chrome lip on wheels
so i have a set of wheels on my car that the chrome lip is coming off and it looks trashy. The lip is turning a blackish color from brake dust and everything. While im buyin new wheels in the spring i am gonna keep these on for the winter. So, what i would like to do is see if there is anyway to paint them. How would i take off the chrome lip, would i use sand paper or would i need to get a tool made just for wheels to take the chrome off? Also, how would you prep a wheel for paint? would i need to use primer on it? maybe some stupid questions, but i have no knowledge on this subject what so ever, so any help would be great, and I have been searching for about an hour but have found little to nothing. thanks guys

professional powdercoaters will do it for 30-80/rim in a multitude of colors and finishes. (for the whole rim)
for just a lip... call and get quotes, and tell me how much cause i was wondering,

little rubbing of 800 wet grit sand paper, then some 1200,then some 2000 , some mothers polish and some elbow grease and you'll have a nice shinny lip, some people call it to much work,I call them laaazzzyyyyyy..
