Do 17" SSR Competition wheels actually fit?

Ok, I've searched the threads - quite a few people talk using
SSR Comps, and even discuss how 17" seem like a fine
idea for some purposes. What I haven't found is any
posting that says "Yes, I've actually got them (or seen them)
on the 8 and there really are no clearance issues".
(Obvoiusly, talking about the large-rotor models of 8).

_Has_ anyone seen these in use? Were there issues?
(Any more info: widths, offsets, tires - would be great
as well)

I need to order wheels soon and this is what I want
to get (probably from tire rack), if I can have some confidence I'll be ok.

Thanks!

Talk to Connor (877-522-8473 X269) at Tire Rack and he can give you the specifics. The SSR Comps aren't the only 17s that will fit.

I know ULLLOSE just picked up a set. You might PM him and see if he had any issues. I'm running Kosei K1 TS 17x8 with no problems and AlexCisneros is running Racing Sparco NT-R 17x8F/17x9R.

Thanks, the reason I'm looking at the SSR 1st, not Kosei (my 2nd choice) is SSR is forged vs cast construction, and avail of 17 x 8.5 vs 17 x 8 to better accomodate some wider rubber all around.

Ok, Conner@tirerack had no doubt that these wheels are fine.
If you want and care, you can even get them with
mazda TPMS sensors (for a ridiculous price).

So I now have 17x8 SSR comp's heading my way, mounted
with dunlop "SP super sport" tires (tires seem like a real
bargain - $118/each).

I'll post a review when I get them and have tried them out.

Looks like a great setup, what do you figure the combined weight is..38lbs maybe? That should be an impressive handling upside! Good luck....now take me trackside! :D can't wait for the review...

38.6 lb each with 225/45/17 dunlops (these are a bit
smaller than stock).

On the same scales, 49.8 +/- 0.4 for the stock wheels/tires.
