JP Drifting coils + tie rods

Hey guys,
I have a pretty specific question about coilovers for you.
I've got a very special drifting instructor, so I'm going to invest some time and money into learning this discipline.

Now, my car is stock at the moment, and I've obviously noticed that it needs some suspension mods because it rolls and squats a lot, especially when transitioning from side to side. However, I'm not too keen on splashing out almost 2000 euros on some teins and stuff, so he suggested to buy some d2's (800 euros), as they are ok for about 18 months, then I'd have to service them. Having heard these are a bit mediocre from other people and on the internet, I looked for alternatives and I found these:
1) HSD HR, 9kg/mm Front & 7kg/mm Rear, these are supposed to be the same as Stance GR+ (although the valving is probably a bit different, I don't know)
2) Bilstein PSS9
I can have either of those, new, for 900 euros.
Now, I know that the Bilstein dampers are better, and at this price they are a bit of a steal, but I'm really afraid that they would be too soft. I'd like my car to be very precise and direct, with almost zero body roll and squat. Has anybody tried both of these?

Before you ask, let me say that I am going to install some sway bars + endlinks as well (thinking Agency Power, as I can get those from the UK and they come with endlinks), and that I do drive my car on the road, although I only use it occasionally and the stock car is almost as comfy as a limo to me, so i can definitely live with a harder ride.

On a side note, do you think it would be useful to install some polyurethane bushings as well? My car has less than 40k miles on it.

Last but not least, it would be useful to increase the steering angle to save the car when I'm being a bit too ambitious: he said that I could drill new holes into the steering knuckles (or whatever they are) if there's space on them, he's done it before on other drift cars. However I don't think there's space to do that, plus I would feel safer to just put some tie rods on the car. The only ones I've seen are Super Now's,

Does anybody know if they are good quality and if they actually increase the steering angle?

Thanks in advance

D2s are crap for track driving if you have sticky rubbers. They overheat easily even with a softer spring rate so i'd stay away from them. The bilsteins are extremely good though, a couple of steps above stance and HR. Kw v3s are ok too in that price range but since you can get the bilsteins for that price just go for them!

Keep in mind that our chassis was designed to roll, to some extent. Just adding parts won't make it better, you'll have to have fun adjusting the dampening and your strut bar's stiffness. Given your goals this shouldn't be a problem though!

The Tie rods you're talking about are good and should increase the steering angle a bit. However their rosejoints aren't very durable (let's say they are crap ), Spiffm modified them with better joints so you may want to PM him. He wrote about that in the other board you just joined, too.

I'm ordering some bushings for a friend, they do make a lot of difference but are boring to install. Since you're doing some suspension work it's a good idea to replace them. Keep in mind that there are other things that you could\should do at the same time.

Per qualsiasi altra cosa mandami un pm
