DSC connected to TPMS???

Ok can anyone (anyone with REAL technical knowledge of the RX8) verify that the DSC is connected to or relies upon the TPMS sensors? Rumors have spread that the TPMS sensors also relay wheel speed/g force that the DSC uses to determine action needed. If this is true I don't want to have less than optimal DSC during the harsh Cleveland winters and/or risk damaging my DSC or TPMS.

Thanks in advance!

Absolutely not. The Canadian 8s don't have TPMS but have DSC/TCS.

Harsh Cleveland winters?

Instead of technical knowledge I have real life experience. My winter rims do not have the TPMS, last winter the DSC system functioned normally during the winter. The rims I use at the track also do not have TPMS and the times I have done runs with DSC on it has functioned normally. So as an owner that frequently uses rims without TPMS I have noticed no changes in the way DSC works.

TPMS is completely independent of DSC. They are totally separate systems. DSC does not rely on TPMS in any way whatsoever.

Thanks all!

Hey KHTM,

I realize you are a fricken Eskimo :D and all but, we DO have some very harsh winters here in Cleveland. With "lake effect" snow we get probably 3 to 4 times the snow of a typical metropolitan area of our size and lattitude. But besides the amount of snow, one must consider the way snowstorms are managed. Which is to say, if you are not living near a major roadway, quite terrible.

So yourself....
