dunlop winter sport m3

I want to fit the dunlop winter sport m3 tires to my stock rims. The only problem is that the smallest 18" tire size I can find is 235/50 18 XL. I am not to sure what the xl means (besides the obvious). Has anyone tried to fit these tires to thier stock wheels and if so did they experience any clearance issues.

p.s. I found that size at the tirerack.

I have the 225/45/18 XL Winter Sport M3s, I'll be putting them on in a week or two. The XL stands for Extra Load, meaning they have a higher load capacity.

I use 235/45/18 - they appear to be fine. I'll know for sure once the snow falls.

Where did you buy your tires. Did you buy them online or did you buy them locally. Also, how much did you pay, if you don't mind me asking.

I just got off the phone with the guy at the tire rack and he said that they are all out of the 225/45 18's for the rest of the season. Where did you hear that they are going to get another shipment, or was that for a different place.

I just got my M3s 225/45-18 installed today. Definately less "grippier" than the 8090s, kept on peeling out. But it does handle well, just cannot drive as aggressive as with the 8090s. Got them from tire rack when they were available in the beginning of October (very surprising and happy to see the size I wanted). Took the last 2 tires from Delaware warehouse and the other 2 rolled from Indiana :p

i am looking for 18" size to fit on stock wheels.
What about the M2's or a comparable tire. The reason I chose the m3 was it looked like it had the most aggressive tead pattern foe grip in the snow. Also, it had universally great reviews.
