FIKSE rims anyone?

Has anyone out there thrown a set of FIKSE rims on their 8 yet? They are certainly pricey but to be perfectly honest they have to be the best looking rims on the market no matter which model you get. even their basic FM5 looks STUNNING.

I'd really like to see the FIKSE Profil 5S photoshopped onto an 8.

I have lusted after a set of Fikse's for years now, but (sadly) not in my budget range. If I remember, they would be something on the order of $1200 each.

If only...............

yah, like i said, not cheap... but considering each rim is built to order and weigh about as much as a sheet of paper i think they may well be worth it at some point :-)

Thumbs up I just e-mailed Fiske...

...about the compatibility of our car's TPMS and their wheels. I, too, am looking at a set of the Profil 5S 19" to replace my stock wheel/tire set-up. Once the Bridgestones are done, I'll probably make the switch. Going to use the stock wheels for winter/all-season tires.

Hopefully the Fiskes will work with the TPMS...if not, I'll have to look somewhere else since I really value the benefit of the monitoring system. Especially at speed!! :D

no matter how fast your TPMS system can react it can't warn you of a tire failure before it happens :-) If you're at speed then the behavior of the car will warn you before the TPMS does.

Depends on how you define tire failure. Nothing will help you with a blowout but that seems rare with good quality tires. Even then a TPMS can help--I once had a rear tire go flat at 60 mph and except for a slight shimmy when it went the car felt completely stable. I couldn't tell if anything was wrong but pulled over just in case.

Most of the time TPMS does what it's intended and warns you when pressure falls lower than normal. Perfect for small leaks. In another instance I drove into a dealership for normal service and as I pulled out found one tire was at 17 psi. If I didn't have TPMS I would have driven on that for who knows how long before checking.

I'm with PUR NRG as far as how I feel the TPMS helps at speed. Not so much in predicting a major failure or blowout, but more along the lines of letting me know if the tire pressures begin to fluctuate. Completely agree with you that if something more than a pressure fluctuatuion occurs, I would definately feel it almost instantly.
