Front brake rotors
Ive noticed that no one carries rx8 sport suspension front rotors locally and got to thinking (dangerous) about why they don't. Is it because of the screw holes? If that's true i was going to ditch them anyway and wondered if there was a rotor i could buy cheaper (because of being more readily available) that doesn't have the holes.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

just order them online. i find it strange that you cant find them locally but you can probably get a better deal online anyway.

I appreciate all the feedback. Finding a good deal online isn't the problem though. Ive got some warped action and my rx8 is now my dd so i was trying to keep the vehicle in commission so i can get to work! If there's no other way though, that's how its going to have to be i suppose.

if your not too serious about performance i wouldnt get 2 peice rotors, oem is probably still the best since they should be pretty cheap compared to other rotors and reliable and performs adequately.

thats when the shuddering happens is when im slowing down quickly from 60-70+. im going to take mine over to a shop and see if they've been machined already and if they are true. Whoever had the vehicle before me decided to change 3 out of the 4 front pads??? One is factory and the others are duralast gold. I realize that i should change them but i don't have the money right now and there's still tons of pads left so im trying to get by until then.

very very rarely are brake rotors warped. there is actually a build up of pad material on the rotor and under hard braking or riding the brakes that material can heat up and shift and that is what actually causes the runout that is measured. now sometimes they are warped but it is unlikely and imposible for any local machine shop to tell the difference as the material is built up in an uneven manner causing the wobble and this will actually show up when they measure the runout on their lathe. so listen to pdxhak and try to get up to 60+ mph and hit the brakes hard but do not go to 0. and do not let the abs kick in, i.e. don't hit them that hard just a few reall good 60-10 braking cycles can smooth out the material on the rotors and you may be all set.
oh and if you do need rotors i would suggest racing brakes from either raceroots or good-win racing. you wont need the 2 piece for a commuter car but they have 1 piece ones too that are top notch.

The shop advised that the rotor is indeed uneven and noticed hard spots. They said that turning them would bring them below the minimum. With hard spots would you still recommend what seems to be a re-bedding process?

Read the Brake FAQ before you do anything https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/brake-faq-167264/ . Mixing different brands of pads on the front is ridiculous. Get a new set of pads. You may be able to keep the old rotors if you bed in the new pads but if they are in fact near the minimum thickness you can get good OEM rotors online at several places one of which is Zeckhausen racing at www.zeckhausenracing.com .

just some stockers. got here today and ones got a ding on the edge of the rotor. It looks like it was dropped onto the edge of something which pushed part of the face of the rotor out. The best i can describe it is it looking like its bubbled up on the edge. I asked Team what he thinks about it and wonder if the community had any ideas on if it can be turned out or not worry about it.
