G-Games 99b - opinions on a Ti-Gray

Hey everyone,

I'm seriously considering these rims, which come in a gunmetal or brushed silver finish. I've seen the pics of some forum members who have them, in both versions, but none on a Titanium gray 8. I believe someone with the gunmetal commented that they almost look black in person. Another member (BigO I think) has them in brushed silver and he posted pics in which they looked like different color wheels completely from day to night. You can see them here: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...ht=g-games+99b

I just wanted to get some opinions on which one would look best with a Ti-Gray. Here are some close-ups (ignore the fact that the brushed silver has no "G-Games" logo on the spoke). Thanks!

Gunmetal: ******* Brushed Silver:

I say Brushed Silver...it will look better because of the contrast with ti-gray.

edited: actually I take that back...clicked on the link and it has a polished lip...that will give it contrast...gun metal!

I also really like these wheels and have a Ti gray. I would do the brushed silver, it looks more like a hyper silver / hyper black than just plain painted silver. I think it would look great with Ti gray. The gunmetal may look too dark or the grays might not match.

in real life they both have g-games on the spoke... those pics that are floating around are ancient. the ones on the rayswheels.co.jp site are how they actually look in real life.

go with silver. sold my set to a guy with a silver 8... looked good. Would also look good on a Ti Gray. The gumetal will be too dark for your Ti and probably neither compliment nor contrast the color of your car. Its like when you see someone wearing dark green pants with a lighter shade green shirt - that aint right.

Mine are gunmetal but of course my car is black. IMO silver would look great with your Ti color.

Post some pictures of your car along with pictures of the wheels and I'm sure someone can photoshop for you.

Yeah, this is what I was thinking -- the brushed silver actually takes on a "gunmetal" look at night and even looks kinda like a hyper silver during the day. I just didn't want to go with anything too close to the stock wheels, which of course are silver 5-spokes. Here's a profile view of my car in case anyone would like to photoshop something. Feel free also to get rid of some of the wheel gap since I'll be lowering it as well :D And this link is the best I could find quickly with the silver 99b's (thanks BigOLundh): https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...7&d=1139173088
Thanks also to everyone who posted their thoughts!

everytime i see these pics... i get pissed off.

next time my car gets totalled by a drunk driver... im gonna make sure to choke out the person who hit me before the cops get there. At least that way when i wake up sore every morning to a dead car sitting in the driveway... ill get to think of the RIP sh*thead who chose to drive drunk that night.

sorry for the rant... carry on with the regularly scheduled program. Oh and yes... get them in brushed silver. Seen polished silvers on other Ti Grays... looks great.

Go for silver. Gunmetal on Gray is played out anyway.

Here is a similar angle with gunmetal you can try to use for a photochop. Either that or someone could make my car Ti.

Aww man, I LOVE those GT-S rims. You should remember me asking you about them. I'm actually still thinking about them, but they'd be over a grand more than the 99bs, with tires. We'll see! I still need funds for new springs and shocks.

Oh no! Another one for the gunmetal. I guess we can all agree these would look good either way... unfortunately I'm right back where I started.

Love those wheels. I was looking at the 99b's as well.

I'd personally go with gunmetal.
