Gauging interest: raceland USA coilover kits!
I have installed a lot of raceland products on several friends' cars over the last year and noticed the quality is pretty good. This past weekend I helped one of my friends install the raceland coilover kit on his audi wagon.
Fit and finish was better than anticipated. Brushed and machined aluminum with laser etched logo, good clean welds, no fitment issues whatsoever. Struts had a pretty short stroke to them. Springs were all the same length, And a 2 year warranty!
For around $400, these are a much better option for those who can't afford tein basics (in my opinion), but still want a adjustable coilover set.
Currently raceland doesn't offer coilover kits for the rx8, but I called their office today and they seem pretty interested in developing them, but getting others on board will only help expedite the process.
If anyone is interested in these coilovers being developed, call: 801-365-1440 or email: info@racelandus.com

Well people would likely need more details on the type of coilovers they are before showing real interest. Top mounts? Bottom adjustable? Shock dynos? spring rates? Helper springs? Made in Taiwan (doesn't matter to me but will to many)?

Been using Raceland on Subaru and been a excellent choice. Fully adjustable and a third the cost. Out of a purchase of 27 units on our local club and 50k+ miles only one shock failure and it was from a snow drift accident 2 years ago and Raceland replaced the single shock only at $90. They will sell separate parts for repair and rebuild your units. I and others have never seen that service done without issues from the retailer or manufacture. I contacted Raceland myself 3 months ago when I purchased my '8' but they just could not see building a coil-over for a car with such a small following.

The coilovers definitely serve the purpose they're intended for, ive had a set before and i know they're still running good with the new owner. obviously for autocross and track events you're not gonna get kw performance, but the intent is to give people the ability to be more apart of the hellaflush stance scene without throwing around huge wads of cash. go ahead and do it id probably be interested in a set for the meantime.

No top hats or helper springs came with them, However there are some other brands models that do not either so no harm no fowl, IMO.
I don't know what spring rates would be, so maybe some recommendations from anyone here would be in order.
I didn't mean to compare such a highly coveted company to one that has only recently emerged stateside, that was a little tactless, my fault.
When so many owners of different makes and models have so few negative reviews of a companies' products, It makes it hard to ignore. And most (not all) of the people who bash on racelands' products "heard a story from a guy" or something along those lines (not talking about anyone here).
I appreciate the honesty, both positive and negative and I do see both sides of this, however, unless tein would lower their prices, I'm out of options (broke).
The fact that owners of racelands only have to send defective merchandise to Utah for exchange/service/etc. seems more feasible to me personally.

Ok, so finally got to test these out on a buddy's car (2006 Audi a3 wagon) the ride is very close to stock, only slightly stiffer, no bouncing, quite a bit of a reduction in dive and squat and body roll was drastically reduced.
Rear tuck was good, not overkill even at its lowest setting.
Front tuck was decent but about 1/2" higher than rear at its lowest setting.
All in all these worked out pretty well. Could stand to raise the rear about 1/4" but this will work out very well. The damping isnt really adjustable, but there are other coil over kits out there that don't feature either. Eliminated about 2-1/2" of fender gap. No harm no foul.

If these are the same as the products sold under the "raceland" (not racelandus) name in the UK do not buy them. A few of my friends have made that mistake on various cars all to disatrous effect. They corrode like hell and ride horrendously!

I'm bringing this thread back!
Everyone is confusing Raceland USA (the brand he is referring to) with Racelands which are a cheap imitation brand in Europe. Raceland USA coils are awesome. And they are now offered for the 8
Just my $.02
