Getting Advan AVS Model 5 - OFFSET OPINIONS
I'm going to be ordering some Advan Model 5's this weekend and I keep going back an forth on the sizes and offsets.
My choices are:
18x8 all the way around
18x8/18x9 staggered
19x8 all the way around
19x8/19x9 staggered
The 18x8's and 19x8's come in 45, 38, 30, and the 18x9's and 19x9's come in 45, 40, 35. I think I'm going with the 19x8 but I don't know what offset to get. I'm thinking that with 245/35's the 30 offset will be to far out, keeping in mind that I have an s-tech/koni setup and don't want to roll fenders. What do you all think?

I seem to recall reading somewhere on this forum that an 18x8 with a 30mm spacer would be "about perfect" to line up with the outside of the fender. I'm curious myself since I'm hoping to order these very wheels sometime in early January - or possibly the Mazdaspeed version if those come in gunmetal as well.

the bigger ? is what are you going to do with the car??? if you are just going to drive around and pose.. do what ever...
if you want to drive the car / auto x or track days... skip the stagger.. a sticky is avaible on this topic... might read about wheel weight also...
another useful tool...http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
stock wheels 18x8 50mm offset..
beers

staggered makes no sense, you can easily run 9" on all four corners with the proper offset; 38 - 40 mm will be perfect for larger tires, for 245 you should be able to run 35mm, it's a big advantage to have the same offset/width on all four corners WRT tire wear/rotation
I absolutely hate staggered setups

I've bought Advan AVS Model 5's. I went for 19x8 offset ET+45 wearing Bridgestone RE050A 245/35 R19 all round.
The reasons I chose those were because I wanted the look of 19" wheels, but didn't want to upset the handling of the '8 too much. I wanted to keep the offset as close to the stock ET+50 as possible so as not to put undue stress on the suspension components. Also I didn't want to upset the balance of the car by going for a staggered setup. Mazda designed the '8 to have the same wheels all round and I don't want to change that.
