Giro Disc 2 piece rotors
I have been in contact with Giro Disc about manufacturing brake rotors for the RX8. For those that dont know who Giro Disc is check out their website http://www.girodisc.com/
They are a smaller company that makes exceptionally good quality products. They make two piece rotors as well as some other brake associated parts(pad shims, rebuild kits, etc..).
Two piece rotors have a couple of advantages:
-They are much lighter than stock(4-8lbs lighter on average). This is taken right off of the rotating mass which, while not actually producing HP, does give the affect of added horsepower by freeing up HP which was lost with the heavier stock rotors. This is the same affect that putting lighter wheels on the car has.
-They dont transfer heat through the aluminum top hat to the wheel bearings as quickly as a one piece iron rotor will thus extending the life of the wheel bearing.
-When the rotor needs to be replaced, you can simply replace the rotor and keep the top hat. This is very cost affective as the top hat is the most expensive part.
They have measured everything on the RX8 and are willing to produce them, however they said they need an order for 5 sets before they will start production. I do not have any pricing on them yet as I am in the process of getting my vendor account set up with them as well as on here. I just want to put a feeler out and see if there would be enough interest in these rotors to get them manufactured.

I dont have the pricing worked out with Girodisc yet for what I can offer these for, but retail direct from Giro Disc on all of their front rotors is $700 and rears are $750. Once I get my vendor account setup here and get the pricing nailed down with Girodisc I will post up what the prices will be.
