Goodyear eagle F1's?

So I'm looking to get some new tires soon-ish so I've been keeping my eyes out for deals... I found that tirerack has the eagle F1 supercars for a pretty good price right now. I did a search and found that people seemed pretty pleased with the GS-D3's but those arent available for the price the supercars are going for. The only downside I see is the wet traction. I live in san antonio, so it's almost always dry, but we do get rain from time to time. Obviously it wont be as good as the GS-D3's, but would it be troublesome to run the supercars?

Would there be a good alternative I should look into? I'm trying to keep it around $800... so any input is appreciated. I'm currently running s-03 pole positions and I've been pretty satisfied with them. I'd say I drive spiritedly most the time... I wouldnt say I'm pushing the limit, but I'm not letting the car's ability go to waste by any means. I do intend to auto-x/track the car eventually, but have yet to find time.

Thanks for any advice!

link?

and if you are not autoxing or tracking you just cant use the ability of the 03s you are running right now. and they are great tires..

two tires i would look at till i get the link on the f1s.
the new dunlop star spec z1 and the kumho xs. but that depends on the wear rate you are willing to deal with..

that size is not even close to being usable for lots of reasons..

the 235 / 45/ 18 would be a closer choice..

the stock tire dia is 25.9..

the tire in your link is over 27 inches. and very heavy.

I guess I forgot to mention I have 18x9 in the back...

So when you say heavy, do you mean for that size, or compared to a stock sized tire? And I never could settle, would 255 or 245 be better for 9"?

the big issue is the outside diameter of the tire.. the one you link is huge compared to the stock tire.. my guess is you are going to reduce your gearing down to a 4.10. reduces acceleration and messes with your speedo huge..

and yes they are very heavy.. at that tread wear. i would look at the mentioned above. toyo tr1, in what every size that is close to 25.9 inches. likely a 265 35 18.

btw, they will do fine in auto x or track as you are likely learning.. as i am also..

sometimes the deal is not the deal.. if you could find you 03s for 105 bucks in the 225 45 18 size agian. that would be the way to go..

i have the t1-r in a 265/35/18 in the back on a 9.5 wide wheel. flawless setup IMO

Front i have the falken 452 225/40/18 on a 8.5 wide wheel. flawless setup IMO

i like have good lateral grip in the front and good traction in the back.. with decent tread wear. Id rather keep my car on the track/road for 6 months than to put it in the wall for a year :P

GS-D3 are great wet tires. Obviously the supercars are great and will be fine in the wet. They are OEM tires for Z06/CTS-V. Keep in mind that the supercars are quite soft so it wont last you as long.
