help bout suspensions

hey guys i need some help. my rear tires are hitting the rear fenders if i have passengers in the back. i searched and read all about the suspension here but don't understand. i read about people getting the tein basic coilovers. others with tein s springs. i read something bout shocks. well im confused. wats the diff. ? im lookin at RB springs but dont know if i need shocks also. if i buy springs do i need to get shocks also? i read something bout coilovers needed to rebuilt or something. please help. i know i need a stiffer ride could u guys tell me wat is best that is still good for street use that will eliminate the tire and fender thing?

so ur on stock suspension on right now? ive never had a problem with rubbing on stock suspension and stock wheels... I had the RB springs on my car for about 8 months and never noticed any bouncing or anything at all, but i got KONI shocks just to complete the package.

i hit the rear fender now when i have more then 2 ppl in my car cuz of the RB springs and KONI shocks and 19" wheels, but with the stock 18s even with the upgraded suspension having 4 160+ pound guys in my car never resulted in rubbing with stock wheels. sry hopefully this helps

is there any springs and shocks that will prevent my tires from hitting the fenders?

Sounds like you have the wrong off set.

You need 45mm offset with 275 tires.

Spring and or shocks won't help that.

yup suspension has nothing to do with it. it's wheel clearance. if your offset is too aggressive with your matched rim width, then you'll rub.

and if you get aftermarket springs to lower... well then you'll just rub more. lol

no you can run 30 offset in the rear if you roll the fender and have enought negative camber!

18x9.5 rear 35 offset. so it would still happen if the springs are stiffer? wat bout that tein basic coilover, i read that its height adjustable. so can i use that to not lower the car and have stiffer ride?

The 35 offset will rub with 275 tires....they just barely clear with 45 offset...that 10mm makes a big difference when you are barely fitting. You might be able to get a bit more clearance with alignment if you are running stock in the rear...but if I recall they will probably rub on the outer wheel arch at about 3 o'clock...not an easy place to roll out. You might want to go narrower with the tires..or find some rims with a bit more offset to move them in a bit

Ideally you don't want to stiffen the suspension to stop a rubbing issue...it messes with the handling and will in effect lose suspension travel...

Good luck

sup gr8, i would reccomend cutting your inner fender. If your in so cali i can reccomend a great shop that can do it. Im running a 19x9.5 wheel with a +34 offset with 275/30 tires. At first I had some bad rubbing issues, but now, i have no problems at all. Keep in mind i'm also running a pretty aggresive negative camber. I'm getting my aligment done in a week, im going to have them adjust my camber as well as corner balancing. I'll let you know how it goes when im done.
