How long does it take to install springs?
I was going to get some coilovers so that I could raise the car for winter driving but I would rather get springs and swap the OEM ones back in and save a few bucks.

i JUST installed mine 2 days ago.
if you know what you are doing it isnt bad.
I have done the suspension on all 5 of my rx7s, and on all 3 of my 240's.
and on numerous friends cars.
that being said the rx8 was the hardest ones I have done.
they arent exactly hard. just kinda tedious.
the biggest PITA, witch isnt really that bad, is lining up the rear cam bolt.
it isnt tough, but you have to have it just right, so make sure you mark it.
and the only other thing I had a problem with, was installed the rear shock,
the sway bar gets in the way for it to just go right in, so you kinda have to wiggle it around and spin it and turn it, then wink your nose and itll go in.
but seriously, I just jacked the car way up in the air and went straight up with it.
on one side, I removed the 2 bolts that hold the sway bar to the frame to give my self more room.
other than that, the front is cake.
the first rear shock took me about 1.5hr to do.
the second rear took about 45 mins. this is all with compressing and de compressing the springs and replacing them.
the fronts took about 1 hour for both.
the other thing is, some people tell you to leave the front upper control arm bolts loose then set the car down and let it settle, then tighten them.
dont waste your time doing that.
get it all installed.
then get another jack, place it on the lowest part of the rotating assembly, and jack it up till the suspension is FUlly compressed, ( it will be fully compressed when the car starts to lift up)
then tighten all the bolts. let the jack down, pop you wheel on and your done.
