I am looking at a new set of rims in spring, & think I want to go with 19". It seems you can fit 9.5" wide in the back, but everyone who has this seems to have a staggered setup. I want to get the wheels as wide as possible, but not have them staggered. Staggering seems to hurt the handling a little & want to avoid that.

Does anyone know how wide you can have 19's in the front without any rubbing, modification, etc.? I couldn't locate anything doing a search, so thought I would post.

I'm running 19x8.5 255/35 front and back with no rubbing. Front is dropped approx. 1.75" and the rear about 1".

i've heard of fitting 9.5's up front but it mostly depends on what tire size you want to run. 275's will fit with the right offset

ps, if u dont want to hurt handling by having staggered tires, lets not be an oxymoron and install 19 inch wheels.....helooooooo

Will moving up to 19's hurt the handling much if the weight is the same or less than the stock 18's? Seems like a wider non-staggered 19" would still handle better than the stock 18". I could go 18's, but like the looks of the extra inch on the 8. I know there is more to the wheels that can help handling, but not looking to spend $2000 per wheel either. I am just looking to get the extra size and help (or at least not hurt) the handling the car currently has.

the 285/30 has the advantage of being short, typically under 25" diameter, this helps get the wheel to avoid the fender liner both in compression travel as well as when turning the wheel

19" tends to be taller diameter, this limits the ability to get a wide tire to fit without rubbing or fender/liner clearancing

10" @ 50mm offset should clear all around, you can get it a bit further out in the front, but you'll get into the rear fender lip if you go to a lower offset #, using the same width/offset all around greatly simplifies rotation

I know a 275/40/17 R comp fits on a 9.5 wheel just fine.

an 18 incher thats 10 inches wide is rare, where can u find THAT setup?

i got 18x8.5 and my 255/40s barely fit on them. offset +45 and i got an arm hairs length of rubbing inside the wheel well. how do u ppl find these wheels? is it stupid to ask if the +50 offset wheel clears over a BBK?

255/40-18 has about a 26" diameter, I run 265/35-18 on 9.5" wheels @ 45mm offset, and they're wider than other manufacturers 275s, no rubbing and I'm at 25-5/8" fender lip height

I know people running 285s on stock wheels and factory ride height that aren't not rubbing, they're 1.5" smaller diameter than 255/40

you can always have 3 pc wheels made in 18 x 10

well, my initial thought was 19x9.5's all around. The few that I am looking at typically look like they are at 35 or 45 offset. I was thinking about running 275/30, because I figured I would need to bring it down to 30 to be able to clear, but still wasn't sure it would fit in front. I am currently running factory height & when I do get some suspension upgrades, it will be the tein FLEX coilovers, which look as though you can keep to the factory height if you want.

I might go 18x10's if I can't fit the 19's, but really like the look of 19's, but definitely will not be going staggered, even if I have to go with 18's.

no, team, im not hittin the fender, im slightly brushing the liner inside the wheel well at full lock....its so slight its barely worth mentioning but after a few 100 miles ive seen the liner clean on certain spots on both front wheel wells.....id be much interested in fitting 285/30 on all four corners......and here i was satisfied with 255.....o well. on my 3 month anniversary of driving with my rt615s ill need new tires and ill search for a wider setup on diff wheels.....think i can get the rpf1's 10 inch wide?

9.5s with 45mm offset are fine as long as you keep the tire's outside diameter reasonable

I've got the stock 18" rims with 275/35-18 all around and no rubbing. It came that way when I bought the car 3 weeks ago. It looks pretty tough!

I just got my 275/35/18s (Goodyear GS-D3) to go with the 18x9.5 +45 Enkei RPF1's I have on order. Looking at these tires now I'm scared. HOW ARE THESE SUPPOSED TO FIT? In the same space as the lame 225s....

I found a bunch of people on this forum with this set-up (not this tire) but these wheels and 275s. Guess I'll find out next week.

if i have a 1.2 " drop in the front and a 1.2" drop in the rear on eibach coil springs and i try to put on 18 X 9 inch wheels with P265/ 35-ZR 18s all the way around will i have problems?

I'm running 245/35/19's and I have a rub when I turn. I getting them switched out tomorrow. I have 19X8 wheels. My offset must be vastly different than other's.

Will a 245/45 R18 tire rub in the front? I wanted to have the same size tire for all 4 tires so that they can be rotated. Please let me know, because I am having them mounted on wed. Also, does the RX-8 need a four wheel alignment? I just got my car a week ago, so any advise will be helpful.

No fender rub.

BUT both fronts are rubbing on the inner wheel well liner. I did not notice this before so sorry for the bad information

Should fit easily, I would go with a 40 profile though. 245/45/18 is taller than stock. 245/40/18 is roughly the same diameter as stock. 1010tires.com has a calculator where you can put in different sizes and comapre.
