hub/caliper painting

i am going to paint my hubs and calipers thing weekend but i have a few questions before i do.(the search did not reveal enough of the info i needed)
after you buy the g2 paint, do you simply paint over the hubs or is their some procedure you go through to take the rust off then paint? i have read some search results and they simply said that they painted their hubs and calipers.

I know it is important to give the calipers a thorough cleaning before you apply the paint but what are the steps for cleaning the hubs?

also, what would be a good caliper color for a silver 8?

must not have, so you just drilled off the rust? did it come off easily or did u really have to drill it hard? that would not damage the hub or anything else would it?

Something like the one below, the rotors are cast iron it's hard to damage them with this.
