Why 245 35? 245 40 fits better and is close to stock diameter.

By my figuring, they were only ever intended as 4 bolt wheels, since there were pockets milled on the back side for various identification stamps and 2 left sharp stress risers VERY close to the lug holes and that's where mine cracked. Luckily I figured it out while re-torquing wheels, so I took them off and it didn't go any furhter, but I swore off Rotas since that was a clear design flaw and I don't think they should have ever been allowed to be shipped to a customer. It speaks to what kind of company it is when they sell clearly flawed merchandise.

Plenty more were that came from, and from other reputable brands. Get off the band wagon and lets not go down that route.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but is this hyper black, gunmetal, or yamaha black? How does it look?

I would love to buy a set of $3,000 wheels, but the Rota's are cheap, they look GREAT, and they will just be used for city driving, so who cares if they are $3,000 or $800. Good read there ^ to each his own.

Most peoples reasoning to go with Rota and its perfectly fine, I'd love to get a set of Works but totally unrealistic to pay 3 grand and especailly for my 8 which is my daily in some of the worst roads in NYC. Rota's are a great street wheel, look great and easy on the pocket compared to other big brands.. And BTW those pics/memes are usually cars involved in large wrecks and its likely that can happen to any wheel cast or forged, regardless of brand, besides you don't even get a whole view of the car rather the damaged wheel alone.

People just want to justify being cheap. If you want to be cheap, be cheap. But don't try and argue they anything near the real thing because they are not. I have have had two sets of Volks and did not pay more than $1500.00 for either set.

And I do not support theft of property, however, it's the way markets run. For me personally, as a college student with not a lot of money, I will spend no more than $900 on a set of wheels that will likely get beaten up by the roads anyway. Not taking it on the track, and not trying to present my wheels as something they're not. They look great, they're cheap, and they work. If I could put my money towards the original product, I would, but I cannot.

I really wouldn't mind dropping the cash on a set of Work CR Kai's or XD9s if i felt like id never have to replace them. Realistically I got a set of Rota's exactly for that reason.. I'd much rather spend $225 to replace a cracked wheel as opposed to $400-500. So I'm cheap. I'd call it budget minded as my car gets driven 7 days a week.

I do agree trying to present ROTA's as the original product would be unfair, stupid, and no different than putting Brembo brake pad covers on stock calipers. But if someone asked me, "Hey what are those wheels?" I'll say, "ROTA's!". Haha.

So you don't buy legit wheels because you're afraid of getting jacked?

That or just ******* them up in general...nah I dont buy legit wheels cuz I cant afford them or justify to my wife why I should spend half the price of the car on wheels lol. Plus id rather spend my money on quality tires and other goodies for autoX/track stuff.
