I've had enough. It's time to fix this. Here are the stats.

2007, I purchased HP Lighting Rims (HP Evos), I can't find the specifics, and I can't locate the exact rim online anymore - here's a picture I snapped this morning. I'm aware they are dirty and dingy, that's not what this post is about. Last year I purchased these tires - https://www.treaddepot.com/#!product...ent/1951309353 - 4 of them. They have less than 1,000 miles on them, but because of how jacked up the rim is, one is unable to get a good seal.

The other three rims are fine, no issues. Is there anyway to just replace that SINGLE rim?

It doesn't have to be HP, just look the same. I know it's got a 2-inch lip. My google fu is failing me at finding the same rim/same color/single rim that will match my tires. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

I recommend start with finding a good mechanic that can reseal the tire using bead sealer. Unless the wheel is really jacked up or cracked, there should be no problem getting a good bead seal. Of course, the rim should be cleaned first, possibly with a wire brush or something like that.

 

What are the wheels specs? These were cheap rims to begin with, replacing one is probably not worth it when you can get a whole set of similar rims for $400-500 new or even less used.

 

where's the air leaking from?
do you have TPMS installed?
could it be from the valve stem?

 

Jedi is correct, I just had new tires installed in my Avenger and the idiots at the shop did not replaced the seal for the TPMS causing a flat in the way home. You should be able to find the leak by spraying soapy water around the usual suspects, bead and TPMS. My TPMS only leaked when moved, so make sure you check that.

 

Get a spray bottle of soapy water. Hose that sucker down. Look for bubbles.

Yes? I'm rocking my original TPMS stems, so they are 11 years-ish old.

 

So I failed to mention it's losing about 1psi per 24 hours - would I see any bubbles?

 

I would up the pressure to about 40lbs...and then look for bubbles..... the pressure increase will make it easier to see a small leak

 

UPDATE: Dropped it off a place that specifically does rim repairs. He did the valve stem check while I was there, that wasn't it. He's taking a deeper dive today to figure out what it is. Hopefully that should save me some change! If fixed will definitely bring some piece of mind!

 

Update to the update - I'm fixed - rim had corrosion and was bent. Going to cost about $90 to fix. But no more putting air in everytime I drive. Now to fix the stereo.
