im confused and need help
hey wats goin on .. im a little confused and i need help if someone wants to point me in the right direction haha.. in the beginning of february ill be pickin up my 8.. what my problem is , is that right now the tires on it are the stock potenzas but they are basically bald.. im in the market for new tires.. however.. since its gonna be in the beginning of february, is it worth it to get snow tires? i live on long island and so far we've had a very mild winter with no snow.. i was just wanting to know if people should feel that i should get snow tires on the stock wheels and then buy a new set of rims for the spring and summer? i realize that this will cost me alot of money that i dont have at the moment so my other idea was to do this..
keep the stock wheels and put high performance all seasons on them.. this way i could get my use in the snow/rain/slush as well as the dryer months of the year...
i was origninally gonna buy some snow tires for the stock wheels and then i was gonna get a set of rays wheels in the spring, but wheels/tires would cost me like 2200....so i figured maybee...
get the snow tires on the stock wheels for now.. THEN.. instead of spending crazy money on wheels.. buy another set of stock wheels w/ summer performance tires and then powder coat them AND get some coilovers as well for the summer.. what do u think? figure a set of coilovers for 1200 + stock wheels/new tires + powdercoat would probably cost me around the same price as the rays/tires..
so in summary.. here are my options...
1. Buy a set of blizzaks for the stock wheels for now. and come spring time if i have the money.. put 19x8.5 rims / tires ...
2. Get the blizzaks for now, get another set of stock wheels w/ better tires and powdercoat them and get coilovers for the summer...
3. Dont get the blizzaks, and just get a set of high performance all season tires because thers only a month and a half left of winter..
tell me lol

dont get winter tires. at most its gonna just rain here. you might as well just change the tires and do as you with to the wheel, and maybe you can get the same size wheels if youre into aftermarket then just swap themif you like.

If I cut through the ***** correctly, I think you are asking if you should get high performance summer tires, all season, or blizzacks???
Up to you, but dont even think about driving in even as much as a dusting of snow on summer tires. If the 8 is your daily driver, and you only have one set of rims, you really should look at snows or all seasons. Particularly, if it snows ever in your area. If it only rains, then you could take a chance. Having said that, it is snowing in the DC area and you are way north of me.
I am glad I have a truck as my daily.
