Issue with wheel spacers

So, I purchased a set of 25mm wheel spacers from a man on Craigslist, however upon mounting, I noticed that the center of the spacer was slightly too small and when torqued down, made it so that there was about 2mm of space between the spacer and where it should have mounted to.

I took my car down and released the E-brake and gave it a short push to test it out, and, as to my expectation, there was all kinds of noise and bumping. is there a possible solution for this such as having these machined to the correct fitment?

Another thought would be to use a much thinner spacer (Approx 3mm?) in between the wheel and the wheel as a sort of gasket, so it would sit flush, but even I question the wisdom of that.

And before you all get started on how much you all hate spacers, just realize that you aren't going to hurt my feelings, and reconsider wasting your time trying to do so.

What brand of spacers? We've confirmed that Eibach 25mm spacers with with the OEM wheels perfectly fine.

The seller said that they were made locally, and were supposed to be a universal 5x114.3 application. Guess that's what happens when you don't go vehicle specific.

I have 25mm ichiba spacers. And they came with a center metal "gasket" i guess you can call it that goes inside the whole of the spacer and it sits flush with the center bore thingy of the rotor. It shouldve came with your spacers try asking the seller. Or else you might have to try to buy them individually.

Without them, ye the spacer will sit about 3mm or so from the center bore all the way around. Regardless though if you tighten everything tight enough, it shouldnt be moving around though

I'm curious what you actually mean, do you mean like a ring the size of the spacer that goes in between the outer portion where the lugs are, or a ring that goes in between the center portion and the hub?

Its a cylindrical ring. That goes in the hole of the wheel spacer. It fits snug. Then it the hub ring goes inside. Heres a pic. Its the ring sticking out.

Ahh, I see. The spacers I picked up are one solid piece, with that center portion built in, which is what is causing the gap. It's recessed slightly to allow for the lip of the hub, but apparently not enough for the Rx-8.

I'm just wondering if these are even usable.

I contacted the seller to see if he was interested in buying them back for a lesser price than what I paid for them, and haven't heard back, and probably won't.

Different spacers are made for different size center bores. You probably bought the wrong size. I think our center bore is like 61 or something. I THINK IM NOT EXACTLY SURE

Did a quick check, the necessary center bore is 67.1 mm. I wonder if I could have them lathed to the right diameter, and if so, how much the cost involved would be.

You're probably better off reposting them and buying the proper size ones.

Yeah, that's what I figure. I'm just worried about fisting someone else, since I don't exactly know what type of car they're for.

Well to make yourself feel better you can measure the bore and post up those measurements with the ad. From there its up to them to figure out what their center bore is.

Edit: I found this if you really want to do measurements.

Just get the right sized hubcentric spacers with a 67.1 center bore. You bought the wrong size.
