I dont know if im the only one still holding my breath, but I talked to a rep from Koni-N.A. today. He stated springs/struts for the rx8 will available late 04 or early 05!!!

Im pretty excited.

That's been the estimated timeframe since they built their prototypes last January.

Was there mention if rear rebound was going to be externally adjustable or be the remove-compress-turn type?

Casual Racing have been using Konis all summer on their RX-8s. The shocks had separate adjustments for rebound and compression. The dials were located at the bottom of the shock and you have to use a peg to turn them.

There was no mention of this to me. The rep was very short and direct with his answers. I think the people on this board who have been testing there products will be able to answer this question best.

I don't currently have a listing for the Koni's to fit an RX8 so i called and left a message for our Koni rep to give me a call with the information. As soon as i get an ETA i will get it posted up here.

I like Koni's adjustable shocks. They seem pretty easy to use, but I'm waiting to see what GAB has in store.

are these koni's monotube or dual tube? ill keep my monotubes over an adjustable dual tube any day. ive got a set of double adjustable monotube koni's on another car- they are awesome but cost $500/corner.

How would something like this compare to Tokico? I am talking with a tuner right now and he suggests that this is the way to go....

I dont see them having bottom adjusters with the mounts we have. Hopefully they will have top adjusters and not be the remove-compress-turn type. I had those on my GTI and they were a pain in the butt. My JICs FLT-A2s have a cable that ataches to the top adjuster and runs into the trunk area. Hopefully Koni will do something similar.

The bottom adjuster issue for what will be the off-the-shelf Koni Yellows is probably more of a cost issue. Their higher end shocks, like I would imagine are on the Casual Racing cars, are a different bag. When I got my car back from them last winter, they indicated that the production versions would probably be the compress-turn type because the shock has to be dropped down a bit to get to the adjustment tab on top. The prototypes on my car have the tabs, but it takes me about 45 minutes to adjust both. It would be nice if they had a cable attachment for remote adjustment, but I don't see it happening. I've been thinking all year about a way to fashion something like that, but it quickly gets beyond my non-existent engineering and fabrication abilities.
