Check out this pic: http://www.americanlemans.com/Galler...0513303218.JPG

Now, is pirelli overcompensating for thier inferior rubber, or are they really THAT much better than kumho? :p

Are you saying that one of those come with a set of tires? If so, definately going with the Pirelli!

It'll take more than a set of tires to make any of them come

From Pirelli. com. Pzero Nero M&S features

# Variable angle grooves ensure higher mechanical grip.

Translated - the various angled and curved shapes ensure and nice, tight fit.

# Innovation in compound improve grip on wet and dry conditions.

Translated - Wet or dry, you can be rest assured there will be no slippage.

# Longitudinal and lateral groove optimization minimize the risk of aquaplaning even when cornering.

Translated - Side to Side and Top to Bottom shape ensures that, even during the most unusual situations, overall wetness will not effect the performance.

# Optimized pitch sequence and a continuous circumferential element ensure a high driving acoustic comfort.

Translated - The roundness of each section will provide a more than satisfying sound experience.

I guess the Kumho's have shorter and stiffer sidewalls with better road feel?

Personal take based on autox experience:

Pirelli: Supple & firm, thought it looks like the "Village Bike" after you finish your run. Heat resistance threshold leaves a bad taste in the mouth, but it's silicone after all.

Kumho: One word, SCREAMER, if that is what flows your boat... Kum-ho-s are never known to be stiff when it comes time to perform.

Judging from the picture, the Pirelli's don't come in low-profile sizes. It would take manual inspection to verify how stiff the sidewalls are. I prefer a comfortable all-season ride than something that you can only use in the summer. :p

The Pirelli's taller sidewall will probably ride quieter and also absorb impacts better, not waking the sleeping children. :D

Beware of a high Silicon content in those Pirelli's. Cornering may be nip and tuck...

I'd hate to see the minivan tire models...
