Looking at these tires - seem too good to be true - all season high performance for $115 each. Any comments from those in the know. - John

I have the tires, since I had them mounted I have not experienced any inclimate weather. It's supposed to snow around here tommorow. As far as dry weather performance they are not nearly as responsive as the potenzas, but that is to be expected. The tires make the car feel like it has more body roll, I guess thats because it has softer sidewalls.

The car also does not feel as stable in a straight line, it seems like I need to make more steering wheel adjustments to stay straight, this could be because the tires are wider. I really never pay attention to tire noise, so as far as I can tell they are not any louder than the potenzas.

If these tires perform substantially better then the potenzas when it snows, which I expect, I will consider it money well spent. I do miss the responsiveness of the potenzas, but I can deal with it for now. I may purchase some summer wheels and tires.

Yes the wide tread will make the car react more to the grooves and wallers in the road. I have noticed that the car is a wee bit more twitchier than when on the stock tires but then again the combination of the wider tread and softer sidewall may be to blame. They did this also on on my last set I had on my VW W8. It may be something in the desgn of the tire.

I do have a tiny bit of vibration in the steering wheel though. I have had the tires rebalanced twice and rotated them front to rear but it is still the same. It only shows up around 35-45 mph. I think that the car ne suspension is just not tuned for the type of tread patern or something. I think the installer put the weights in the wrong place so when I get some time I will take them back and have them redo it. The OEM weights were placed about 1" inboard from the backside of the spokes and installer installed the stick-on weights on the inside portion of the rim, over the inner bead.

Otherwise I like them. I feel a bit safer now that I don't have to white knucke it on the way home form work after one of those notorious VA snow showers.

Sounds like a good tire for my use - Central Indiana winters are mild by my ex-Canadian standards - and I haveother vehicle to drive in heavy winter weather. John

I have had these tires for about 4 weeks. They are quieter and ride better than the OEM. This is probably because they are 1 ply sidewalls compared to 2 on the Bridgestone. I have had them in the snow and wet pavement and I personally think they work great. Traction in snow was very good with very little slipping. I felt very safe. I would recommend them for an all season tire to anyone.

Warning on Sumitomo HTR's!

I bought a set of HTR's about a year ago, decent grip in the wet, but they flat spot like a motherf**cker. At first you you think is it out of balance but really the tire is out of round.

I can almost guarantee you that you will regret buying these... My whole car was vibrating by about 14,000 miles on those tires despite multiple attempts to balance.
