Lowered 8's with 18" aftermarket rims?

Anybody with pics lowered 8's on 18" aftermarket rims?

I currently have the Tanabe GF210 springs (1.4"F and 1.2"R drop), and am looking at the Volk SF Challenge rims. Originally, I was deadset on going for 19" and a staggered set up (19x8.5F and 19x9.5R with 235/35 and 265/30 tires) because it looked great, but now I'm not so sure.

My car is strictly a street car at this point, and now I'm considering sticking with 18x8.0" or 18x8.5" all the way around to maintain balance. Plus the stock 18s look pretty good on my dropped 8, making me think that 18s are sufficiently sized.

Thoughts and pics greatly appreciated.

Jeff

the pics look good (like the color ) there is more to consider...for instance 'kel rx8' he has 20s on his lowered 8...yes I said 20s

the other thing to consider is...are you looking into a body kit...Mazda App package or Mazdaspeed kit? (or many many others) that will dramatically change the look of the car...that will change the clearance and blah blah blah...well just think about it

For now, I'm planning on sticking with the stock appearance package. If I spring for a FI kit in the future, I might look to a more aggressive body kit to go with it, especially when C-West delivers one. I like the MS kit, but I'm hoping to find something different.

The accleration I noticed the minute I drove off with the new wheels. Saving 6lbs per corner should did help. Handling wise I did notice with the 8.5 the car grabbed more than with the 8, but that just might be the tires I put on? Hard to tell. Overall, I am very happy with the wheels and feel it is a good balance of functional gain and looks.
