Lowering springs, end link question

So after waiting all winter to get my springs put on, my buddy was supposed to help me out, he bails on me and i have to do it alone. I have absolutely no experience doing suspension, but decided i was going to try anyway. I got a spring compressor from part source, jacked up the back end and began. I did not get far...
Is there a special way to remove the end links? After breaking loose the bolts, they end up just turning and i cant get them out. So as you can imagine i didnt get very far in my spring install, lmfao.
After not being able to even get the end links off, i thought i should get it done professionally, until i called around and got quotes ranging from 420 to 550 canadian for just springs, no allignment.
There was a guide with pictures on here, but they seemed to have disapeared, so i was wondering if anyone has a diy with pictures, or at least if someone can explain whats going on with those endlink bolts haha
thanks for the help in advanced guys...

On the bolt end (where the threads are), you can hold the bolt with an allen wrench to keep it from spinning...

once you have it broke loose you need to hold the bolt while you turn the nut. To do this you put an allen wrench into the end of the bolt and hold it still while you turn the nut (14 mm IIRC). Also, get some POB blaster and spray the bolt down and use a wire brush to clean off he threads before you start to unscrew it. Those thread get really dirty and will make it almost impossible to get off if you don't do this. If this wont work you might be able to get away with unbotlingthe whole sway bar form the frame in the rear. You will have to take the front endlinks off to do the front though.

Where are you located?

Impact might work to break them free, but not after they are loose.

I must be missing something, is he talking about the nut that holds the end link to the rear control arm bar? The whole endlink does not have to be removed just unbolt both side from the control arms and twist the sway and end links up out of the way.

I have done springs, shocks, coilovers, on 5 or 6 8's and the endlinks were never an issue. But then again in Texas we don't have issues really with corrosion or anything.

^You should see my end-links then. You could scrape bits of rust off the threads, it's not even funny

But I'm confused as well - You shouldn't need to remove the end-links to install springs, unless they are getting in your way somehow ??

Unbolting them and swinging them out of the way makes getting the rear shock assembly out much easier. I also unbolt the LCA as well. In the front it is not a problem.

Corrosion is a bitch.

+1 much easier if you unbolt them. Tried removing the strut assembly without taking the endlink off and ultimately couldn't do it without scratching the hell out of the OEM strut assembly. Took the endlinks off instead.

Yeah unbolting the endlink and dropping one side of the LCA makes the rear a breeze. Just mark the alignment bolt with a sharpie so you don't screw up the alignment too much.

+1. You will need an alignment after the install anyhow, but if you do this you should be good for a week or so. That way you can make sure the car is all the way settled before you get the alignment.
