Lowering Springs Question
i searched and found different answers but iwas wondering if anyone had JUST the SPRINGS (not coilovers) installed on their rx8? if so is the ride alot more rough and stiff?? is the Handeling better?? and has it caused any problems such as making this loose or rattle? things around those lines if you could please let me know because i jsut got a free lowering kit and so far ive heard its probably not best to put them on. so let me know if you have experianced this or kno of someone that has because i have alot of people telling me what they think they know but they arnt sure so i needa for sure answer please. thanks

well, depending what springs you get, they can ride next to stock or a tad bit stiffer. the handling is not really better because spring rates aren't working together, but you have a very slightly lower center of gravity. over the course of a year or two, depending how hard you drive, you will need to replace the shocks because the spring rate of the springs are meant for the stock shocks.

What kind of springs did you get? I had the Racing beat ones on my car for about 8 months and didn't have any problems with the stock shocks. They were about 20% stiffer than the stock ones. For now I have the Tein Basic Coilovers because I wanted to get rid of the gap, and I can tell you right now the ride on the basics is not forgiving compared to my RB setup.

unfortunatly i dont know what kind they are...i went to get my car alligned at the shop and a guy there asked if iwanted free lowering kit but he didnt know the make or anything....the only thing i can tell you is they are purple but im sure that doesnt help much...its just i dont want to have to but new shocks because i changed the springs to get the car 1 inch lower..i personaly dont think its worth it and its already pretty low...i jsut wanted to make sure i knew that it did or didnt mess up the car cause thats what i dont want.
