mazdaspeed coils and tein s tech springs???
Hi all.
This is my first post.
Im from Canary Islands (Spain) and i usally read this forum for info.
I´ve got a 4 port 5 MT sport RX-8 with Mazdaspeed suspension (coils and springs) and Whiteline sway bars.
I dont like the drop (about 0.5 inch front and rear) because seems the rear is lower.
I like more the tein S tech drop, and my question is if i can use the s techs with the mazdaspeed coils

MS coilovers
i've been wondering the same thing myself. Mazdaspeed claims almost 2" drop all the way around but my car sits about the same height (measured from the ground) at the front fender as with the stock setup and the adjustment collars are as low as they'll go. the guy at mazda told me that the car just has to settle a bit but its been a month and there's no difference. Got me to wondering whether the issue might be with the helper springs at the top of the shock. i noticed in the rear the the helper springs are completely compressed ( which is ok as i understand that their only purpose is to keep the springs centered on the shock under 0 compression situations) but the fronts are about 3/4" from full compression). - softer helper springs in rear maybe? not sure if you could swap the rear helpers for the front or not but it would seem that if you could, the fornt would drop a little more. have to admit i'm a little disappointed there. Otherwise, the kit works great! - excellent performance!
Was going to Mazda this week to ask about the helper spring issue and inquire as to whether a shorter set of springs could be installed. I'm assuming it wouldnt impact handling so long as you select a spring with a simlar springrate as the MS coilovers (eibachs maybe? - i've heard that the mazdaspeed springs are actually made by them anyway). Let me know if you find anything out and i'll do the same.

U need time to settle with the new stuff. Try hard brake and turn harder in the next couple weeks.
I am a S tech user before. The car did drop but it wasn't that agressive, now I am using Tein basic coilover and it was much better now. For instance you can adjust the height!!

yeah, the kit is fantastic and the car is very handling. im very happy whit the kit. the only i dont like is the drop (the front drop)
the stuff was instaled about 2 months ago, but the drop doesnt change.
and the car had a track day ---> hard brake, hard turn.....

Have the front suspension control arm bolts loosened while the car is on the ground by turning the steering wheel all the way to one side to gain access and then retighten while the car is on the ground. Repeat and do the other side.
This should help with lowering the front end further. It would appear that upon installation, the front control arms were tightened while the car was off the ground , giving you the extra wheel gap.
