Mazdaspeed wheels ?
hello, i'm looking to get a rx-8 and the one i'm looking came with wheels, but they are not rx-8 mazdaspeed wheels. i looked onto mazdaspeed parts site and saw they can come on mazda 6. here are the ones i'm talking about http://i689.photobucket.com/albums/v...66max/ms-t.jpg
i'm not sure but are they really 7.5 wide?? what's the offset?? weight?
thanks for the info!

There are Mazdaspeed wheels for the RX-8. Japanparts carries them. They're very nice but only come in 18x8 and strangely Don't accept TPMS.
You're better off with the very similar Advan T5 which has wider sizes and Do accept TPMS.
Search Jedi54's thread for picts of the T5's on his '8.
Both MS and T5 are Very pricey btw.
edit: enclosed are the Mazdaspeed rims:

Those are not the rx8 mazdaspeed wheel and stay away from them. 7.5" is way too thin. I would look at aftermarket wheels if I were you.
I'm pretty sure volks make the rx8 mazdaspeed wheels if that's what you'r looking for. Otherwise the Enkei RPF1 or the Forgestar F14 look great on that car with a relatively cheap price.
The genuine Mazdaspeed wheel price is prohibitive, doens't look as good and have a very conservative offset.

the person bought the car with the mazdaspeed package (wheels, brushed metal triangle on front and rear bumper, brushed metal side vent accents, CAI), i guess they work with TPMS cause it came with the car. They actually have 225 on them now but i want to fit 235...
id like to know the weight of those wheels and who made em?

Ok, now it makes sence.
Probably bought at Mazda Bourrassa. Stephane tried to sell me these "Mazdaspeed" wheels for a cheap price because someone ordered them and finaly never bought them. He tried to convince me that they where genuine Mazdaspeed wheel and that it will complete my Mazdaspeed body kit very well. He realized after a while that I wasn't falling for his saleman tricks and stoped bothering me with these wheels.
Stealership love to fool people with catchy words like Mazdaspeed expeting that their client don't know anything about what they are talking about.
Go to you prefered dealership and get the Mazdaspeed brochure, you will quickly understand what parts are really Mazdaspeed and which are really meant for your RX8.
If you have those 7.5 inches wheel, I wonder what size of tires you have on them.
If you are interested, here are the two different model of Mazdaspeed wheels for the RX8 and you can buy them from your dealer but for the same price you can get way better wheels.

BTW, you should try to join clubrxquebec.com, it's a local rotary club that organize weekly meets and some other events.

Actually, it's my mothers car She bought it at mazda laval and this package came with it at no extra charge...I'm going to buy her car soon, it looks pretty much like new one so i wanted to know if it was worth keeping those wheels or looking for other aftermaker ones...
the wheels have the stock tires on them 225 40 i think

haaa ok, it makes sense now. I tought they had here wheels replaced by the Mazdaspped 6 ones.
I bought a brand new set of Forgestar F15 in gunmetal. The price is very good and they are very light.

235 should fit...forget the spacers....RB makes quality stuff.
BTW those wheels are very heavy, I think about 23 lbs while the RX8 Rays MS wheels are 17 lbs....if you care.

so, a LONG time ago, when the atenza (mazda6) first came out, mazda released a mazdaspeed atenza a-spec concept wearing wheels that look very similar. i'm fairly certain they were prodrive wheels. the a-spec touring kit mazdaspeed released for sale later for the atenza was largely identical to this concept, but the rims were slightly different, and they're the rims in the photo below. so i'm fairly certain these are wheels sold thru mazdaspeed (but manufactured by someone else, possibly prodrive), but for the atenza/mazda6, not rx-8

the wheels are for mazda 6, yes, but they are rays(branded inside with specs and also have valvle caps branded rays)
again, why forget the spacers? RB springs only drop .5inch.
and if someone know, are those forged?

What performance advantage do you hope to gain with spacers?

i dont hope on any gains with spacers but the wheels looked tucked inside the wells since the high offset and beeing 7.5 wide so i want to put them close to 25-30 offset if possible. id get h&r track + spacers so it will be strong, being wider surely helps somewhere
i still dont know the weight of those wheels...but they really are rays

heres what mackin industries told me :
I asked our staff that has seen this wheel, he said that the wheel is cast. Usually wheels made by Rays is normally 1 pound per inch. I hope this information helps.
