Moving the wheels out a little

Wondering what I could do to move the wheels out a little further, I think it would give the RX8 a more muscular stance. A friend of mine said something about wheel spacers, anyone got ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Search

I think if you do a search on Wheel Spacers or just Spacers you'll find the info you're looking for.

And yes, it will look nice!

I was looking to do the same til I talked to my aftermarket shop guy who advised me against it. He said it probably wasn't safe. Best bet is to get new rims.

Is it safe ? I know they are often used to fit big brake kits behind them....

Mazdatrix has 6.5 mm spacers for sale. They are really so you can fit their Brembo big brake kit on it, but will still work if you don't put the brake kit on. In general, it's not about safety, but handling. Push the wheels out to far and handling will suffer. We have talked about this before, anything under about .5" is OK, anything more will worsen the handling of the car.

I don't know if I agreee with this and I would love to see some proven results one way or another.

The Mazdatrix spacers are hub-centric and thus will mate very secularly.

Personally I have 245's in the front on +42mm wheels and 275's in the rear on +45mm wheels. The car looks bad *** and handles better as well IMO.

I suggest going 245/40 - 18's on the stock wheels with the 6.5mm spacers if you don't want to spring for aftermarket jobs.

the prob with the cheap spacers is the fact that your nutzzzzz are only hanging on by 1/2 the threds than the wer.:D never the less....... i have small ones on the back with 255s and larger ones on the front with 235s. im not shur the exact width but i can only turn the front lugs about 4 or 5 times. my brother gives me **** all the time but oh well.......the gap is awsome!!!!! i really cant wait to see a few dif wide-b kits come out. the front finders are so sick alredy....just think what 2 more inches on each side will look like:D
