my big brakes....

well guys i have stumbled on a cheaper 4 piston caliper and rotor (2-piece) kit that would be half of what the rest of them cost.... i need to finish fabbing up a relocation bracket but this brakes will kick ***... like i said its a 2 piece rotor, drilled, the 4 piston rotor is crazy diesel... i should have some pics up soon i was just excited and wanted to let everyone in on it

i am not sure what you mean if they will work properly... will they stop.. yes they will they were used on a very fast drag car.... do they have tons of brake pad left... yes they do.... will the 8 have enough pressure to compress the piston... well lets look at the ap setup, the brembo set up, project u and the others that are runnign the 4 piston caliper and i believe one of them have a 6 piston caliper.... so no i am not worried about them working... are you worried about the position of the 2 piece rotor... well i fitted the rotor and it fits on the hub perfectly in the stock position... its thicker due to the venting channels but that is compensated with the caliper... are you concerned that the caliper wont fit... well it wont mount into the stock location but that is fine.... i would need to mount it differently because of the mounting points of the new caliper... i am not going to use a 1/16 inch peice of metal to hold it on... i am goign to use 1/2 - 3/4 inch thick steel (just like any other big brake kit out on the market). so it will be better then stock, cheaper then the rest of the bb kits out there.. and i am going to try and make it available to everyone...

now if i have not addressed the concerns of safety, please specifically ask the question that you would like me to answer

ezzy, I dont know if you remember me from the banquet at sevenstock. we were sitting at that table behind you when you (the group from florida) won those lights....that's you right? nice to see you posting.

i have seen the brakes on the 8 and the appear to fit. if it werent for people like WNP we wouldnt have a lot of mods for our 8. he loves to fabricate and test new things from past experience with other cars. i promise he wont be driving around on unsafe brakes.

we will have to see some pics WNP and hear more about that bracket.....

properly designed, aluminum is acceptable for the mounting bracket, not all BBKs use steel ...

does anyone have any other tests that they would recomend?

tomorrow i will have pictures of all the components of the kit including the steel braided brake line, caliper, bracket, rotor, and the hardware (grade 8)

ezzy.... there was a couple from australia... that is why she thought it might be you....

anymore tests that you guys can suggest would be great... i want to see how good these things really are... they have worked great in the past
