My service dept sez they don't have alignment specs for the RX-8...
They aligned to '95 RX-7 specs- and told me Mazda has told them to do this. Anybody else get this?

Spin9K,
Those are the specs for the front suspension - what about the rear? Just curious...
BasenjiGuy,
You might have realized that your dealer was BS'ing you. The RX-7 suspension design was completely different - the alignment numbers might be close, but Mazda would certainly not tell them to use RX-7 numbers when the RX-8 numbers were sitting on their shelf!
Regards,
Gordon

Folks,
When i aligned my 8 at its first tire rotation I had to use the RX7 as a source on our alignment machine - this is what i suspect Mazda told their dealer to do.
On our machine you are able to manipulate the settings by hand so that you can achieve the desired alignment.
By selecting RX7 on our machine i'm pretty much telling the computer where to aim its cameras and i disregard all the info that the system has built in to help in the alignment procedure. This info is just there to guide a tech along if he gets lost or isn't familiar with the car and how adjustments are made.
until Hunter provides us with a software update that includes the 8 i'll keep doing it the way i did the first time.

ps, if i had printed out the information from the alignment it would have said i aligned the car to RX7 specs and would take a trained eye to notice that the specs were changed to theose of the 8.
