Need Help with wheels and tires...
Alright, I have looked through a lot of these posts, but I am sorry if this has been mentioned before....
I am looking into getting some new wheels and tires but do not have a lot of extra money to spend. The most I can really be looking at spending would be $850 for the tires and rims together.
I know its not much, but its what my budget can afford. So my question is, what is the best option for me and where might I be able to look to get the price I want to pay.
I did find these on ebay but I really do not know that much about rims and tires but here they are http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m32
The size is 18"x 7.5"
Offset is 48MM
And also are those tires any good for the price I am willing to spend? And is it possible to find better wheels and tires for the same if not a better price?
Thanks for at least looking even if I do not get anywhere else. Btw I am looking at getting the wheels and tires within the next week if they be online or somewhere locally but I highly doubt locally can beat the online retailers.

I'm sorry to say, but your budget really isnt big enough to get wheels and tires. If you want to get some cheap wheels and tires you might get lucky to find something within that budget, but it wont be anything that looks great though. best bet is to go to discount tire and see what they have about wheel/tire packages.
My sugestion would be for you to keep your current wheels and just get a set of really good tires. i have the BF goodrench g-force, and i love them. You could also go with Yokohama, Pirelli's or Toyo's.
Dont get too far ahead of yourslef and just buy cheap crap. one piece at a time, and make sure its good quality. it will last you that much longer and you will be happier.

Alright, I have a 2004 auto RX8 sorry I forgot to mention that. Also I know the rims will be on the cheaper side but I have found some that look pretty nice. Anyways I would have just kept the rims and tires but my 2 back tires both got screws jammed in them while I was driving and I just decided I wanted to look into getting some wheels and tires.
BTW do I need to transfer the tpms? And I know the tires are not the same size. But how much smaller would they be on my car? I would just wait and get 1 piece at a time but even at discount tire the best they could do with rims very similar to the ones I linked to they wanted somewhere around $1700.
I really just wanted to spend about half that. I know I am not going to get the best stuff with my money but I would like something new and since my rims are even showing a lot of wear with curb rash which was from the previous owner.
But if I do just buy the wheels and tires separate what would I be looking at spending? And keep in mind I am trying to stay as cheap as possible but still get something nice. Sorry for all the talking, but you guys know your stuff and its easier to ask you guys rather than reading something off another website.

put new good tires on the stock wheels.. the stock wheels are good..
win, win, vs crap, crap...
i would search tire rack.. and read about tires that you might think suite you needs..
do you drive on just the street... or do some auto x... or do track days..
i would read the stickys at the top... and look at the website hosting this forum.. tirerack.com..
lots of good info there...
you can put really competent street tires on you car for less than 500 bucks.. and maintain tpms..
or you can get lots of problems that you have not started to research about..

Thanks for all the info. How are these tires....225/45ZR18 Kumho Ecsta SPT
Blackwall? I found them for $450 with the road side hazard. And I just use my car on the street for now.
Btw does discount tire give some sort of discount on their tires if you can find it cheaper somewhere else including online stores?
Also will this rim work with those tires...18x8 Borbet Type XL Machined w/Black Accent....This is more than I wanted to spend, but this is more or less what I really want.
And since I will want to transfer my TPMS onto the new rims, where could I get that done, and how much would they charge to do that? I know you probably wont know but a good estimate would be great. Thanks for all the info you have already given btw.

those rims in the OP doesnt look too great... you can get the HP Lightining online with rims and wheels for 1000 shipped... they come mounted and supposedly balanced.. tires are not that great as they give you hankook or nexen, but they are decently rated... might be worth a look for an extra 150 and they look nice.. or just wait for a deal in the for sale forum here or craigslist

^^ Go to www.wheelsnext.com... Select HP and find the lightning... they have a few colors to that style and ohters... silver, black and hyperblack... 18x8, 4 wheels, tires, mounted.. 1000, free shipping

Alright so I am almost certain I am going with the rims from wheelsnext, so my next question is, Can I get my TPMS transfered to me new rims from say discount tire, and if they can do that, any idea on how much they would charge?
Thanks for the help everyone, it really has helped make this a lot easier.

Well, the guy I talked to over the phone at Discount Tire said they would price match but he seemed kind of unsure. Has anyone had any luck price matching an online store to discount tire or any other retail location?
