New brake pads and discs suggestions
Hey guys!
Firstly, I recently got new brake pads and discs put on my car from a mazda dealership. They were fine at first but now they screech. I have contected mazda who said they will get the car in this week. Has anyone else expericenced similar problems with their rx8?
Secondly, Does anyone have any suggestions on uprated/better brakes and where to buy them?
PS I'm not up on the technical waffle that often goes on in here so, just plain lehmans terms would be great!

There have been many complaints of brake noise on the early model RX-8s. There were technical service bulletins to fix the problem. I have an 07 and don't have any brake noise issues. Since you just got brake work done, maybe they didn't lubricate the contact surfaces between the pad and shims enough. Let them take a look at it again.
As far as upgrading pads, I wouldn't bother unless you're going to do some kind of motorsport event. The stock pads are pretty good and do not produce much dust. More aggressive pads produce more dust and will make more noise. Mazda designed a good braking system on this car and the rotors are quite large for the vehicle weight. I use a race compound pad for track days because of the high heat produced on the track, but I swap back to the OEM pads after the event for daily driving.
