New Rims Lost in Mail?

I ordered a set of Enkei RPF1s 18x9.5 from Good-Win Racing. I'm SUPER EXCITED!

I expected them to arrive tuesday but nothing came.. So I checked the tracking only to see there were on vehicle for delivery in Reading, PA. That's close to Rochester Michigan right?

Here's the trackinghttp://wwwapps.ups.com/WebTracking/p...800FA847046797

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH

stuck in PA?

I just checked again, looks like they are lost in the PA feedback loop.

I Called UPS but all they did was read me the damn online tracking, USELESS.

Is some dude in a UPS shipping room yanking my rims and filling the boxes with chia pets and pocket fishermans?

Dude.....

Dude, you're messed up!

anyway, 2 of the rims arrived today, the other boxed pair is somewhere in OH.

I took a couple pic before taking them to the local tire place with 2 of my new tires:

These 275 look sick. I probly could have gone with 255s and been happy.
I haven't weighted the combo, but I swear they are lighter than stock.

Tpms

Yes, Yes they do. RPF1+TPMS is ALL GOOD.

I hated having to pay a tire place to get the TPMS pods out of the summer set of stockies. I've lived with the blinky yellow tire light with the winter set of stockies. Now I have an extra set of RX-8 wheels.

Those are nice. Take some pics with them on the car when you've received the others.

Too Wide?

I've had these on for 2 daysnow and compared to photos of every other car on this forum with these rims mine stick out funny.

It's possible that is just a combination of:

1. Do goodyears run WIDE? (275/35)
2. The stock ride height vs. lowered (I'm stock)
3. non-stock brake rotors. (I have Powerslots)

I took some photos and measurements you could compare with your rides:

Hey Swoope, Thanks for not actually reading the thread. Your calculator has nothing to do with this. There is a lot of info on these wheels on our cars but there isn't much on how much they stickout of the wheel wells at stock ride height. Lowering the car helps correct this apparently. Hey Swoope... send us a link to a lowering & camber calculator.

I've gotten some PM's and emails about this. Guys running these wheels with an agressive drop are running something like 1.5 degrees of negative camber. In the next couple weeks I'll install Tien S-Techs and Tokico D-specs (they've been sitting in my living room for a couple weeks now).

Tomorrow I'll try wash the car and take some better photos.

really,

well after you drop it are you going to have it aligned? your s techs and d specs dont change the offset or where the outside of the wheel sits.

my springs are lower than what you are going to put on...

the calculator expains why the rim is where it is... it is not your rotors or anything else you asked about.. btw. a 275 is pretty much a 275. and your stock springs dont change where your tires are located. yes i read the thread..
sounds like you dont know what you are doing, and did not study before you jumped.

to be honest, with the springs you are putting on you should be fine... you should not need some crazy bad handling alignment settings...

o wait you are stuffing 275s in a car that was design for 225s.

this will help also...

dont blame me.

SHEEESH.
1. if an after market rotor isn't the same thickness as OEM that it'll have an effect just like a different offset. (this was an issue on my brother's civic, wrong rotors).

2. Not all tires are created equal, my 225 snows are noticeably wider than my 225 stocks. I've owned a lot of tires over the years.

3. Springs... or really "suspension level at rest" does make a difference in the wheel's position RELATIVE to the fender. As the suspension arms or linkages raise the effective distance from the car's center to the edge of wheel decreases AND negative camber increases. It's geometry.

Did goodwin provide you with "metal hubrings"? it didn't appear to have them in the photo. Did they provide you the option?

It's a camber issue with stock ride height. I have my camber maxed to full positive adjustment and i'm lowered 2.5", i have a MAXED out the settings and still have -2.5 degs in the rear. Totally whack, i need to get some hard parts so I can dial in a little more positive camber in the rear. Supposedly JIC is gonna come out with this part.
