no no no!!!

those are nothing but brembo blanks that joe's machine shop has drilled and slotted. drilled/slotted rotors have marginal performance benefits (if any in a street car) and when they drilled in the aftermarket like that, it seriously degrades the structural integrity. the slots/holes are only for cooling purposes and may actually hurt your braking since there's less contact area between the rotor and pad. just use oem, or get a set of OEM size endless or similar rotors. or go with a big brake kit ($$$) if you really want a performance bump.

alternatively, you cant remove your rotors, sand the rust down, mask off the swept area on the rotors and use high temp brake caliper paint to 'seal' them. i belive there's a DIY floating around somewhere on it.

thanks guys...but I wish I would have clarified...really the only thing I care about is the rust on the rotor itself...in otherwords is there a rotor replacement that is coated that wiill not rust? (like this one has a 'zinc' coating, although this could be complete hogwash)

I have no problems with the OEM brakes...in fact I think they are great EXCEPT the rust...please tell me there is a simple swap available to get rid of our fugly brake rotors...not the caliper and the break line, etc....just the rotor

thanks!

you use the caliper paint on the unswept area of the rotor like I said. and if you want you can get rice colors, or just silver or black. thats really the best way to go.

also, i think the rusty rotors are an early build date thing, as I have hardly any on my car at all (11/03 BD). maybe just some new OEM's will keep you clean for awhile.

mine was 12/03, and had a lot of rust, as did every single rx-8 on the lot, which had plenty of cars from 2004.

I guess that... resolves nothing.
