Hello everyone extremly happy to be here. Im new to the RX8Club and a PROUND owner of a 2004 RX8 Im about to buy some 19" wheels for my rx8 but im not sure if a 10.5 would fit in the rear and 9.5 in the front? Can anyone let me know if this is possible and what size tires to use without stretching.........Thanks

This depends on ride height, fender mods, and offset of wheels. I am lowered on coils and am running 10.5 all around. If it definitely possible, but for a better answer post in the will it fit thread with the specs of the wheels.

I wouldn't do that sizing.

I would recommend going with a squared setup and if you go with a staggered setup...at least go with a 9.5

Friends don't let friends go staggered.

Also.....why 19's? You don't abide by the Form Follows Function mantra?

Because if you are smart about it you can fit the same size all around. Your choice sounds appropriate for a Poosh.

What's the reason to go staggered? Why do you think staggered is better? What are the benefits of staggered?

If you can provide an answer to any of those questions that is truly a functional advantage and not a bling bling look at my hellatard wheel setup, then you know more than all of us.

His reason for staggered is, "I already ordered the wheels because I saw it like that on a G35 and thought it looked cool."

there a STICKY on why its bad. basically the rx8 has neutral balance going staggered will lead to understeer.

also assuming you put performance tires on which are probably directional you cant rotate your tires...

Like mrl84 said, there is a sticky that explains it pretty well:
https://www.rx8club.com/wheels-tires...at-idea-50607/

The RX-8 was designed with the intention of a square wheel/tire setup. The weight balance, spring rates, roll rates, power delivery ....etc. were all designed around a square setup. When you change to a staggered setup, you completely change the handling characteristics and balance of the car. Staggered setups are beneficial for cars with high horsepower or a rear biased weight distribution. Staggered setups are not beneficial to light weight, low powered, balanced cars like the RX-8.
