New SSR D5R wheels installed !!

Just got my SSR wheels installed yesterday wrapped with General Exclaim UHP tires.

The wheels are 19 x 9.5 +40 et
Tires are 245 /35 /19

I initially wanted to get some mesh style wheels on my 8, but couldn't resist when I found these as I always wanted this for my 350z.

Initial thoughts - Love the tires as they are ultra smooth with minimal road noise. At $130 a pop you really can't go wrong with these at all. I haven't push these tires hard yet, but i'm sure that will come soon enough. The tires have a pretty 'soft' side wall which is probably the reason for its smoothness on the road when i'm cruising. I love that I can actually here the engine !
Also love the wheels, as the lip is nice and shiney and the spokes are very classy.

For now, I have increased a gap about 1/2 an inch, so'll wait till and get a nice set of Tien S type springs. Also have ordered a set of universal center caps on ebay, so that will be taken care of as well.

Feel free to make comments, etc...Though I will preface by saying - If you don't like em ( I dont care) as I am pretty content with this mod on my 8!

They look not bad, but it's hard to tell from those pics. Try being less artsy with the camera and take one good picture showing the side of the car straight on so we can get a good look at it.

D5R wheels are sweet! Looks like you may need a little negative camber up front but it is hard to tell from the pictures. It is going to look great when you get a drop.

I like them a lot. I too hear a lot of people not like the style of wheel I chose, but I love them. In the end it is your car and you are the only one who needs to appreciate it. Very nice looking car man!

Still hard to tell with those side shots but I think you need to get your camber checked. Are you running OE springs and shocks?

Yep...all is stock. I'll get alignment done when I get my springs. Probably not too far down the line I suspect.

How are the tires on cornering? I was thinking of getting these but the soft side wall scares me a bit.

Kenny you didnt sell them? I remember you had them up for sale recently.

Glad you didn't they look good. For the price these wheels look real nice. A friend of mine bought a set for his e46 330 in gold for 1000 with tires (Fuzion ZRI) shipped. 19 x (im not sure the width) all around.

they look great!

I like the wheels, but like everyone says, it needs to be lowered. I also think you needed the wheels to be 8.5 wide or go with a wider tire if they will fit. I just dont like the wheels looking wider then the tires. But all in all, I like them.

Thanks for the compliments and contructive critisism. Definitely needs to be lowered in my opinion as well, and that was the plan. I wanted to go wider in the back but got a good deal on the tires so just went for these. I'll most likely go wider when the rears need to be replaced. Also am thinking of Eibach or Tien S tech, though haven't decided which ones yet. I'll post more pics then. Thanks - ken

Good taste....have fun keeping the inner lip clean.

Drives me crazy; but taking the wheels off every few months and cleaning them is the only way to go.
