New wheels: TSW Volcano !

Had to do something while the site was in turmoil... so I went wheel shopping! :D

After much research (Price vs looks vs weight vs construction) the wheels I chose are TSW Volcano, 18x8, 5x114.3, 40mm offset, and weigh about 20 Lbs each according to my scale. In Hyper-black (which is almost a perfect match for the titanium gray of my car, BTW) they cost $195 each at Streetdreams.org and come with free shipping and a complete set of lug nuts and valve stems. I didn't use the valve stems though, as they're also TPMS compatible. :D These wheels are low-pressure cast and rated at 1800 Lbs load rating each.

One note: They's listed as 18x7.5" but in reality are 8" wide according to my measuring tape.

I LOVE 'em! What do you all think? :D

did you measure from the outside edge or the rim bead where the tyre sits?

Nice looking wheels. They look like they belong on the car, rather than an add-on like some other wheels.

Thanks, my thoughts exactly. I almost bought the SSR Competitions, but couldn't bring myself to like the 6 spoke design or abide by the almost $500 each price just on principle. Yes they're about 3 Lbs lighter each, but that's not enough to justify the more than double price and less attractive (IMHO!) design.

I also really like the Axis Hiros, but they cost more and (again in my opinion) don't look quite as good.

Nice wheels but if you don't mind me asking, do you know the % tint you got on your windows? I'm looking to tint them. Thanks!

Great!

hey omi!
nice wheels...one of the best that ive seen on a titanium without looking overdone. arent the stock wheels about 25 lbs?
and does this offset make them come out a little farther?

on a sidenote, are you happy with your tein h setup? just got my ms shocks and springs and think it looks too low... makes the car look "too long for the height", it seems so far.

rudy!

22.5 Lbs according to my scale, and I just weighed them tonight. :D

Not that I can detect - they look to fit the same or better than the stock wheels.

Yeah, the MS stuff looked too low to me in the rear but not enough in the front, which is why I went Tein H-Tech. And I love 'em! Check out this thread where I wrote all about them.
