No weights on my balanced wheels??
I am just trying to poll whether or not I should go back to the tire place...... so here it goes.
I get the car back yesterday (235/40/18s were mounted, balanced and alligned) and I drive it around a bit. The ride is WAY bumpy, and I notice the TPMS light is on. I check the pressure, and all 4 tires were at 50 psi. (Body heat begins to rise).
Let the air out of all the tires until they hit 32. As I am letting the air out, I look at where the static weights (stock from Mazda) used to be. There were 9 or 10 on each wheel (because of the TPMS obviously), and now there are NONE. No weights anywhere. The funny thing is: the car feels absolutely beautiful.
I have had MANY issues with imbalanced tires, out-of-round tires, etc., and I know how bad imbalanced wheels feel. My questions are:
1) Does one always feel an imbalance? No weights on all 4 wheels, I should feel something, right?
2) Does anyone feel that by some chance they could be balanced? I know I don't.
3) Should I go back and ask WTF? I am not scared by any means, I am just sick of RETURN visits to "ASE certified, I know more than you ever will about cars" places of business.
ANY INPUT WELCOME. THANX

Its not strange to not see a balance weight on a rim,but not on all 4 rims is rare. Some guys out there are old school and will put the weights on the inside lip of the rim(where the tire is seated against the rim) I would check to see if the weights are there. If so,have them change it because not all of these newer rims can seat right with a weight mounted on them,so they tend to leak.I'm not saying that it will leak, but it could happen.Hey, at least they didn't mount the weights on the outer lip of the rim! But if there are no weights anywhere on the rim, and it doesn't shake around 50 to 60 mph, dont worry about it. Just consider yourself lucky.

The chance of a correctly balanced rim not having any weights is very low. The chance of four wheels having no weights after balancing is 1:100000000. I've been running a tyre shop for eight years and it has never once happened to more than two wheels of a set.
Like the above posters said, weights could be mounted on the inside of the wheels. The weights on the side facing outwards could be distributed invisibly behind the spokes of the rims.
