Noisey Tires

I took my 8 to the dealer for what sounded like a rear end problem. He check it out and said they it was ok and that what I was probably hearing was "tire noise". i have 19K on my car and it is on origianl tires,

has anyone else experienced this or any peculiar noises from the rear end of the car while driviing? It is particularly noticable on smoe pavements more than others. Thanks. :o

Hi Boo, long time!

Yeah, the OEM Bridgestone RE040s have developed a reputation for becoming quite noisy when they get on in miles, quite a few members have reported this. It's most noticeable when they put on replacement tires, and suddenly the car is much quieter!

Regards,
Gordon

Yes ...what he said...

Also, I have noticed something even more annoying. My tires seems to slightly flatspot over night in cooler temps. This is new. It never was like that before. Even after sitting for three months without spinning a wheel (6000 miles on them at that time). I drive on the highway for a few minutes and they quiet down. I too thought I have a rear end issue but its those pesky Bridgestones.

Doesnt this all sound very familiar to the 350z community's bitch and moans about noisy OEM tires a couple years ago? Same REO40's.

So.....I'm starting the new season (my car sits the winters out) with new rubber. I'm probably going to go with the S03. It will probably do the same thing after 15000 miles.......but I'm not going to sacrifice performance.

Does anyone know anything about the REO50 and REO50A?

Over the Holidays I had installed Michelin PS2. Now the radio can be heard easily at 7-8 instead of 13-14.

My Bridgestones started getting louder at 13,000 miles, when they were 1st rotated. Any further rotations did not help the tire noise. Finally replaced them at 25,000 miles.

Good to see you post Boo
