NOOB Ques. Flare rear guards for Wider Wheels. Bad Idea?
Hi All,
I'm still kinda new here. Got my black RX8 not long ago and am loving it, even though it's still 100% stock at the moment.
I was wondering if someone can advise me on wether it's a good idea to flare my rear guards or not. At the moment I'm purchasing Volk Racing GT'C's 19, 8.5 front with +43 offset and 19, 9.5 Rear with +43 offset. Now when I asked the guys at the shop if 19, 10.5 with +43 offset in the rear would fit, they said "no" but he recommended me to flare my guards by about say an inch and it should fit just fine.
Does anyone know if flaring guards is a good idea or would I be risking ruining the body of my RX8? And even if it's safe to flare my rear guards, will having 8.5 in the front and 10.5 in the rear be a bad idea Handling wise?
Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks heaps

Rolling the guards is when you roll the inside of the guards, not interfering with the out side of the guard and you basically couldn't tell when look from the outside. Flaring is when you extend or pull the actual guard outwards which you can notice when looking from the outside and gives you more room to fit wider wheels than just rolling it. After speaking to a few panel beaters I was reccomended not to flare as it could ruin my exterior and requires alot more work than just rolling them.
I might just settle for 9.5 rear wheels and decrease the offset as I want that staggered look, although may need to roll guards which i don't mind.
And i think NgoRX8 is right, my handling will just fly out the window with 10.5 rears. Thanks guys
