The basic difference is that aftermarket rims are not OEM. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Weight, style and $$$ out of your pocket

The right setup can yield better performance. Just the opposite with a bad setup (i.e. heavier wheels, too big tires, etc...).

thats what i was trying to get to know.
i am sure aftermarket is lighter, but not that light for works rims right? perfomance wise i am not sure bout the difference.

i love the look of oem 18"rims, since my car came with 16" rims,

i was thinking, should i spend another US$ 700 for a new set of second hand 18" rims?

Not all aftermarket are lighter. Most are actually much heavier. The stock, oem 18" are pretty light already.

if you like the stock 18s, get them. unless you have the money for some aftermarket wheels.

Check the sticky threads on wheel weight and wheel size/performence.

If you're looking for stock 18" rims your best bet would be to get them here. A lot of people sell their rims after buying aftermarket ones. I still have my stock ones in my garage. Not sure if I want to sell them or chrome them.
