I took my trunk liner out tonight so i could see about a rear shock tower support, but i really cannot see how the support's extra strength would be noticable. i was also looking at the rear sway bar, how can an aftermarket bar really be worth the money?
Can you guys that have one or both of these tell me if the change is noticable? :p

oh yeah and one more thing... i read about guys lowering an inch or putting on wider tires, but i have yet to find someone who has lowered and put on wider than 245's, i want 265 or 255 and to drop about an inch, i really do not want to try it and find out : )

well since the rx-8's chasie(spelling?) is pretty strong in the back the rear strut bar won't have as big an impact as the sway will . if you go to racingbeats web site they have numbers pout up on the difference their sawy bars did:D

I have my winter wheels on right now. The tire sizes are 225/45-18 front and 255/40-18 rear. With tires wider in the rear than the front the car will tend to push a bit in the turns, in otherwords a little oversteer. Putting a bigger sway bar up front will also give you a little bit of oversteer.
However, I like the aggressive look the wider rear tires give Once I get my Axis Hiro's come off backorder, I'll have 245/35-19 front and 275/30-19 rear.

not long after that, got rid of the 19's and got the 20" with 245/35 profiles all round, and lowered it 2.5" front and 2.75" rear, not rubbing at all :D

Once the weather improves and I put my auto-x suspension back on the car, I will be trying a 1 1/2 drop with 255's. It was no problem with the 225 OEMs. Nice thing about coilovers, if it rubs I can just raise the car up until it quits rubbing.
