Opinion Needed - Falken FK 452 or Yokohama S Drive
I am down to two tires (245/40/18):
1) Falken FK 452 - $128/tire at edge racing
2) Yokohama S Drive - $155/tire at tire rack
I have seen good reviews on both. Looking for a tire that does not wear incredibly fast (want at least 25k), low road noise, great handling in the corners, and is ok to drive below 50 deg F.
The Yoko's are about an extra $100, so not sure if it is worth the price. Input needed!!
Currently running the Kumho Ecsta SPT (225/45/18) - looking for a bit stiffer sidewall and handling.

go for the S drive. Im a big fan of Falkens but i think the S drives are worth a try not to mention i have heared from many people they last longer.
I know a lot of rx8 guys run SPT, whats the general idea on those, and about how long do they last becuase the tread feels VERY sticky and soft.

The SPT's are a good replacement tire compared to the OEM's for the price (about $100/tire when I bought them). They are not nearly as slick in temps below 50 deg F. Handling is not as good on dry, warm conditions as the OEM Potenza's, but adequate. Road noise is much less on the Kumho's (most noticeable improvement) as the tires wear (best to run at around 36 psi). I have about 28000 miles on the Kumhos and they are beat. I am looking for something which handles a bit better, but overall they are a good tire for the money.

I wouldn't drive any of those in the rain under 50F.
Dry, not too much of a problem since they will heat up from <50F but constant cold rain water hitting them makes for a wiggly situation.
