opinions on stock shock/spring combo
I'm a big fan of the twisties and flung my 8 around some turns the other day... my impressions...
I'm not exactly overly thrilled as of now, I don't know maybe I have to give it more time.
It seems that the shocks are to soft in the bound settings or we have some weird progressive spring rates. When you enter a turn, you turn the wheel in, then it feels like the car squats down suddenly with a large amount of body roll and the suspension travel seems to change the camber enough to make you have to reposition the wheel. It's a feeling that really surprised me the first time and thought it was a bump in the road or something - but it happened in other turns (unless its all a coincidence). Our 6 and my old PGT feels much more secure because it squats at a much more linear and controlled rate. I know they made some sacrifices for ride comfort - but I think I almost prefer the handling of the 6 at this point.
However, once the car plants itself it feels damn good and on the money. I think there needs to be some inprovement on the transition to that point though.
Anyone else get this impression?
