How much. I assume you have to remove tires and TPMS for the Powder coating process? Think solid black would look great on yellow mobile

i would think that from far away ppl would mistake your rims for hubcaps... (one downside to having black on black)

Looks pretty good, Hamsta. I too would have preferred to have the outer rim left silver, but that looks pretty damn good.

Just Picked up my set of Black Powder coated OEM's from a local shop and I am happy with them except I can't mount them till Spring 2005. Cost Under $275 for the set and I will hand paint the caps black except for the Mazda logo . I think they will look great on my Yellow.

Wow, that looks pretty hot! I've been thinking about doing the same thing with my second set of rims (use them as winter tires), but I finally decided to leave them stock silver. Post some pics when you have mounted them, I may have to reconsider!

Didn't have them painted exactly. Found a shop nearby that does "powder coating" which should hold up better than paint + these will not be used during winter.

Basic Powder coating info

I was hoping to have them on the car before the winter but my OEM Bridgestone’s still have tread life @ 21,000 miles. Looks like I will start next spring with them for a month or two then switch to the black rims. I will then use the silver OEM’s for the track. From reading this board back around March I was thinking I would be lucky to get 15,000 miles on the RE040’s, looks like they will last 25,000.

As far as the Tein Springs.... Give em a few days and they will settle. Mine took a few days to drop down.

I'd rather "BLING" as so many of you characterize it with chrome. That's UGLY!!!!

expo1, those actually look really good because it's not flat and got some shine to them.

How are you so patient? I'd mount them just on one side to see how it looks!

The problem was my OEM tires lasted longer than I expected, 21,000 with miles to spare. However I guess I could not wait, I just got some TPMS's from another member so they will get mounted before spring. But I have a set of winter tires on 17's waiting for the first snow / ice.

Added pic with center cap.

Got them mounted

I couldn’t wait till my OEM’s wore out or spring and got tires mounted on my Black rims. The dealer did a good job and there aren’t any scratches. I did my winter change over today so while I was at it I put them on one side for some pics.

I like them.

On the other hand, with black or gunmetal rims if they are dirty (which takes about one good drive) no one will know!

Brilliant! :D
