I was planning to paint my break calipers today with the g2 caliper paint system that i ordered, however its 84 degrees and really humid so i have to postpone it. (since when does it get warm here i dont know)

Anyways, the next day that would work for me is monday, however i plan on driving 5 hours tuesday night. Does anyone who knows more about caliper paint then me know if that is not long enough drying time for a 5 hour drive. I would paint monday around noonish probably, and leave tuesday night around 8pm

Is 24 hours long enough?

i think it was swoope who posted that without driving it will dry overnight, so i should be good even though its a 5 hour drive roughly 24 hours from the time of painting?

If you look at the Instructions and or DIRECTIONS. It states The paint requires 2 hours' curing time before reinstalling the wheels. Do not use vehicle for 24 hours in order to allow the paint to reach its full grade of hardening.

Well i didnt see the point in making another thread, so ill just post pics here... Got them painted today, turned out great i think.

I realize you already painted them but let them dry as long as possible before driving.
I waited 24 hours even though I live in CA and it's not too humid here. In high humidity places, I would definitely follow the instructions.

Looks good btw.
I need to touch mine up, its been 4 years and there's a few small chips.
Might just powder coat the things.

ya, the only "driving" i have done is move it 15 ft from the driveway into the garage, and i didnt brake at all so i should be ok.

Its not humid at all out there today so im not to worried about that.

nothing wrong with using some wood cribbing to keep the car up but in the future remember you only go half as high as the wood is wide. The way you had the car set up it is possible for it to slide forward or back with surprisingly little effort.

as for powder coating, i would suggest against it. Cost, pain in the butt having to take them off completely, and the fact that powder coating isnt bulletproof and can still chip. Oh, and if the powder coater doesn't do a great job you wont know till it starts to come off.
