Performance Brake Pads (MS)

I recently had the mazdaspeed pads put on my ****.... well I knew they'd make some noise but it sounds like I'm driving around in 5 dollar pads here

what the hell?? is it normal for a higher carbon brake pad to produce a deafening high pitched squeal that slowly lowers in pitch as you take pressure off them?

I'm about ready to get some OEM pads over here lol

Yes, it's normal that higher performance pads will make more noise, due to higher metal content for more heat resistance. Not sure what the Mazdaspeed pads are made of. My Hawk HPSs make noticeably more noise (and dust) than stock. I tried using CRC brake quiet gel on the the back of the pads, but that worked for only a week then back came the squealing. You probably should get ceramic pads, which address the noise and dust issue while providing near Hawk HPS performance.

thanks for the responses guys... the dust is pretty bad, I will most likely be looking into ceramic in the future but for now these brakes still perform well and I guess the race-car brake sound isn't all that terrible

MS pads are great track pads but not needed on the street . OEMs are just fine for the street ....

I love my MS pads. They are a little expensive but they hold up well on the track.
Mine due not make noise. I would suggest bedding them in throughly which is best done on the track.
