Pic Request: Any 18x9.5+22 on stock height

Hello everyone, just curious if anyone has any pictures of this setup.

18x9.5+22 on stock height

This is rx7 fitment if anyone is curious and will be transferred over this summer or the next, just wondering how this would fit.

I posted in the will it fit and J said it would be super retarded looking but a pic to confirm this might make me rest my case.

Also no, i dont plan on lowering my rx8 at the time. Its currently my DD and dont want to be pouring money into it (thats what the rx7 is for)

Thanks.

^THANKS!! i love how you provided alot of pictures!

Im still new to figuring these wheel sizes in my head, you sit basically flush from what i can tell am i correct?
How much farther will i be past the fender with the +22? Also can this be remedied by a little neg camber?

Ill also be on 225's until i wear my set out and go wider for the 7.

Good luck getting that much negative camber without lowering the car...

You gain camber as you lower the car, you cant just add as much negative camber as you want...

Don't do it, it'll look stupid with such an aggressive wheel at stock height.

Spend $200 for a set of Eibachs or S Techs that will eliminate the unwanted wheel gap, and look worlds better...

+22 is only half an inch wider than mine. The front wheels surely will stick out, however, the rears will clear at 225 tires. I wish I could find a picture of my car with almost 450 lbs (two adults) of load in the rear seats mimicking a drop of two inches on the set up I have. As far as suspension alignment and camber, I'm at a loss. You should inquired with tiltmode43 in this Aggressive Wheel Fitment thread.

^thanks, thats what ive been looking for.

as far as camber, i was under the impression that we could change it, albiet not by much, i was hoping it would suffice.

ive been looking into the gf210's for a while, with a lower springrate they will do less damage and ill be able to get more life out of my oem bilsteins. Im not looking forward to replacing them when they blowout because of the price. Though if i bring it to a shop it will be ~$500 for springs, install and alignment.

Not the picture I'm looking for regarding the rear wheels tucking. But it's close, I was hitting bumps up the hill. I didn't feel the tires rub other than the suspension's bump-stops.

Assuming your rims are 9.5" it would be a touch over 5/8" further out. Not that .129" is much, just sayin'

so you are saying that my rims will stick out 5/8" (~1.5cm) in the front?

They will stick out, these are the only images I have saved and you can kind of imagine as my wheels align evenly with the fenders.

That all depends on your camber specs in the front, but with stock height the difference is going to appear negligable due to so much gap.

16mm(38-22)/25.4mm(one inch)=.6299" or slightly more than 5/8" from what Grace_Excel was showing you.

225 on a 9.5 is a big stretch, that may take away from some of it, but you may want to think about this before installing. Do a google search for RX8 18x9.5 +22 and take a look at some pics. Couldn't find any with +22 but some with +15 and +20 that look like stock height or close. Just think about it before you do it, that is all. RavSpec had something similar to this on his ads for the Work Emotion 11R a few months back. I think he was running 18x9.5 +15 with a 235 on stock height. You can get somewhat of a feel through these pics, although his are sticking out 3/8" more.

Why is this even a question? Either answer is far too much. (9.5 +38 sticks past the fender at stock height anyways)

My new wheels are 18x9.5 +20. Even lowered on gf210+koni yellows it still sticks out a bit. At stock height it will poke like no others. I don't have any pics yet just saying...

because its not the end of the world if my wheel/tire sticks out 5/8". You have said that it will stick out 1" and others have said 1/2" and 5/8" but i think according to grace's specs his is just about flush so add another 5/8"

anyway, i just want to know basically if i should save my $ and buy the wheels after i buy the fd in the same specs(fd fitment) or buy them now to spruce up the rx8 a little bit for a little while.

1 inch however is too much for me and id rather just wait at that point. The stretched tire is aggressive enough, not to mention the shitty height.

for the record i was going to buy some sprint springs but the op decided to not answer my pm and answered someone elses so he sold them. that would have gained me 2 amazing sexy inches.

I can't simulate how the front will look lowered with 245/40 tires in 18 x 9.5 +38 wheels. But here are pictures of the rear (under load with two adults).

EricB, if you're still wondering.

Still a little rubbing on the rears which a little more camber should help. The fronts are rubbing the fender liner which I might remove.

Thumbs up

this is what it would look like if you wanna go with the sortaflush mode,

18x10 +22 rear
18x9.5 + 22 front

front: 20mm wheel adapter
rear: 5mm spacer.

im hoping some spacers remedies my problem.

thanks again for grace finding me a multitude of pictures and brilliantblack for finding me the springs.
