^ yup. they are bronze. i dig the tuner look. i've been trying to convince myself to get something with a nice, fat, polished lip, but there's just something about the simplicity of the style that i like. no nonsense, all business...

might just have to do somethind really stupid like get a second set...

thanks for the compliment...

It looks good how it is. I would stay away from a polished lip if you do go bigger.

drop issues

yeah i'm sure. its actually set to more than 1" in the front. crap thing is that i'm not getting as much drop in the front with the ms coilovers as i should. got a tip from another member that its probably because the control arms were tightened while the car was off the ground. suggested loosening the bolts a bit so that the car settles properly, then tightening them again (makes sense). gonna try that in the next day or so. the backs i can drop til the thing is on the friggn ground (not that low in the pics). the other issue that doesnt help the fender gap i that i've got 35 profile tires. when i had the stocks on it it actually filled the wheel well a lot better. And...the ms kit comes with helper springs at the top of the front shocks and bottom of the rears. - nice, quality feature. but... the helper springs in the front are still fairly taught and are around 3/4" from full compression while the rears are fully compressed. full compression is the norm (i think) as the primary purpose of the helper springs, as i understand it is to keep the spring coil stable and centered on the shock body during 0 compression situations. i suppose if i didnt want to wait on the springs to soften, i could cut the helpers out and replace them with a rubber stop of some sort. but i dont want to mess up a good thing as the ride and handling of the ms coilovers is spectacular.

other thing i was passively wondering is if it was possible to replace the springs on the coilovers with a shorter set. say... eibachs with the same spring rate as the coils on the ms coilovers. saying eibachs because i believe the ms coilover springs are made by eibach anyway...

shinka,

i'll see if i can make it next weekend. i'd love to see what everyone else is doing with their cars. it would just be nice to see that many in one place - dont see them too often in baltimore county.

about the wheels. to make a long story short, i'm running different tires because the online shop i bought them from neglected to tell me that 2 of the 4 i ordered were out of stock ( originaly supposed to be 4 nt555's - 245s front and 255s rear ) until the order was actually delivered. so, for the trouble, the dealer gave me 2 tires (of equal value or lesser than the nt555's) of my choice at nice discount. So i did a little reseach into which tires offered the best value and performance for the price. I was surprised to see that from what i read, the falkens were rated pretty highly. my experience with them in the past was that they werent a very responsive tire and tended to suffer from sidewall flex under hard cornering. But i figured that maybe their product had improved over the years and so i gave them a shot. The ratings claimed excellent traction, especially in wet conditions ( something the nitto's dont do as well - and i know some people might disagree, but my experience with nitto 555's in the past was that they stuck like boogers in the dry but tended to get overly loose on wet pavement). so i figured i'd give them a go. for the price that i got them for, why not? they seem to be ok so far... and i had expected to see some understeer given the staggered setup, but the car has maintained its stellar balance... noticeably better handling now than stock - thanks in large part to the ms coilovers. and for the rx8, thats saying a lot.

Man, I'm really loving those bronze wheels on the black. Super sharp and cool. A++++.

The Emotions CR Kai are really nice looking, but for some reason, they're not light?

Those wheels look great man, but different tyres on the front and the rear, you need to get the same all around as you wont be doing your handling any favours that way.

Don't get anything with a lip.... lips are so 2006!

Damn!

I was going to jokingly ask about swapping wheels too. I knew I should had said something.

Well, when they're about to go up on the market again let me know so I can start saving up for them.

When you pulled into the parking lot I feel in love with those wheels. I kept looking at them online wondering how they would look on my car too.
